What do you do when your car is in the shop but you need a ride? You unfortunately have to call a cab. A friend recommended Ace Cab Service to me and I should definitely thank that friend. I gave Ace a call and the driver was extremely polite. Not only was he prompt but he gave me his personal business card to schedule future appointments. Finally, a cab driver who cares!

This hotel looks nice from the outside. Once you get in, the commoen areas and the rooms are downright awful. The hotel is being milked for profit at the expense of its guests.
Pros: breakfast
Cons: rooms, common areas, lighting

Made my 7th visit to Cleveland for two weeks beginning July 19, 2009. Was on a budget this time. Found this place on the internet, then discovered that it is listed in The Cleveland Clinic visitor's guide. My wife Betsey was there for aortic valve replacement. We got the nice front room on the fourth floor. It was very lovely.
Betsey stated that it reminded her of a cross between her grandmother's house and her college dorm (!). The free breakfast and the free use of the laundry facilities was certainly helpful, along with pricing that was 80% lower than the Intercontinental were lifesaving.
Robin, the Innkeeper, drove us to our dinner house the first night, and he gave us a great tour of Cleveland on the way. Then he drove us to the Clinic a few days later for Betsey to check in for her surgery.
That all happened two months ago. Betsey is now well along in her recuperation, and we are planning a return trip for the week after Christmas 2009. She will meet with her cardiologist for a progress checkup. We already have box seat tickets for the Cleveland Orchestra in Severance Hall for New Year's eve. As you may have guessed, we are returning to the Brownstone.
Pros: Great Innkeeper; Low Pricing; House has Loads of Character.
Cons: No shoe shine boy on the premises.

The brownstone inn is privately owned and located in downtown cleveland. It's an 1874 townhouse designated Cleveland Landmark #58 on the national register of historic places. The accomidations are fantastic : 2 large front rooms with sitting areas , 2-3 comfortable medium-sized rooms, 2nd floor full kitchenette, Robes in each room
Quiet common areas, Central air conditioning, Telephone and fax, Private bathroomPrices are very reasonable for such a beautiful place, staff is very friendly and helpful.

The hotel was very convenient from where I needed to go, but the elevator smelled and looked like someone urinated in it. Aside from the elevator, the hallways had stains that looked like and smelled like urine too. Housekeeping was very rude when asked to come back after 8:30 am; all they said was "maybe." I do not think I would stay there again.

I read some of the reviews here and worried before my arrival, NOT ANY MORE! They must have replaced the staff as they were friendly and very helpful. After staying the night and needing to return in the near future, there is no way I will stay elsewhere, They receive my 5 stars!
I highly recommend this hotel to everyone needing to stay near the Cleveland Clinic. The clinic is right across the street. The whole clinic is mostly in walking distance of this hotel. The rooms are CLEAN, UPDATED, quiet and my room had a refrigerator included. The staff is friendly and the area is safely secured by officers covering the area and also the clinic. There is food services availlable on the first floor and also food you can purchase from a freezer in the Lobby and you can heat in a microwave oven at affordable prices after spending a day at the clinic, no need to worry about where to eat late at night. I hope this helps some travelers rest easy, and Heal Well!
Pros: Very Convenient, Nice Staff, Coming Back Again
