This is really interesting to learn about prominent African Americans who changed our society, such as scientists and inventors, and the culture of Africa from the past to present. They featured masks and instruments in traditional celebrations. I loved learning about the inventions, too, from the gas mask to lightbulb filaments to electronic devices used in IBM Computers and the pacemaker.

The Agora is and has always been Cleveland’s best large concert club. It has a great history and still hosts excellent national and smaller acts, even with competition from the House of Blues. There is plenty of surface parking around the theater, although it is not in the best neighborhood. The bar is good and large and not extremely expensive.

This is the ultimate place to have fun: the bottom is a bowling alley for a little friendly one-on-one competition, and the upstairs is a club to get your party on! Bowling and clubbing in one night - how sweet is that? It's located in downtown Cleveland, too, so after bowling, you can hop to another club and keep going till dawn.

The Beachland Ballroom and Tavern offers two venues for live music. The tiny Tavern and the ballroom off to the side of the tavern. My personal favorite is the ballroom. It's large enough to hold a fair sized crowd, but still small enough to feel like an intimate show. Definitely one of my favorite venues in the Cleveland area.
I used to look forward to the yearly Luna show at the Beachland, but alas, they've broken up. I've seen a number of other shows here as well, definitely for the smaller acts.
Ticket prices are always reasonable, and if you purchase from their website, you save on the ridiculous handling fees charged by ticket brokers like tickets.com and the like. The Beachland will hold your tickets at the door.

I just love Cain Park and all the programs it has to offer each summer. I especially love the arts festival. I have been going for over 15 years now and each year there is something different and exciting to see. I have made it a habit to take my younger cousins and nephews in order to expose them to different types of art and they all love it also and look forward to it each year. The park is also great for sledding in the winter and just playing on the playground for children in the summer. An excellent resource to the Cleveland Heights community!

Cain Park is huge and offers some form of recreation for season. In the winter, they have awesome sledding hills - never too crowded if you go early (9 AM - 11 AM), which is best to go because the snow is still fresh and not pressed down a million times by previous sledders. :] In the summer, they have art festivals with wonderful local talents - it's nice to admire or purchase artwork. There are large pavillions for concerts (big names like Fiona Apple)or theater events . However, if there are no scheduled events going on, there's really nothing for adults to do, unless you like playing on playgrounds. ^_^ There are no real rollerblading/biking trails, even though the name it implies it's a park.
