The first Cincinnati chili parlor is Empress. Go there for the 'original' taste. In 100 words or less, Gold Star's taste leans more towards the meat, Skyline's taste is more towards the spice. Polarize yourself accordingly. Empress, IMO, has the best blend of the two styles, but all 3 will provide a tasty way to fill up for cheap, provided you like Cincinnati-style chili to begin with. If you don't, why waste the bandwidth here?

Not as good as Texas chili but much better than Skyline. Their chili dogs are great. I buy them on the way to work and reheat them in the microwave.
Pros: Inexpensive, Fast Service

I DON'T LIKE THE SPICES THEY USE IN THEIR CHILI. SKYLINE IS MUCH BETTER.

Gold star has no flavor at all. It is watered down and does not taste good at all. I would always pick Skyline before even setting foot in a goldstar.
Cons: disgusting, nasty, watered down

Gold star is awesome chili. Spicy but not too spicy. Not as good as mine of course but I can say I eat and fix Gold Star a lot more than I do my own.
Pros: fast, good, cheap
