Bogart's unfortunately gets some good acts. This is unfortunate because Bogarts is the worst venue ive been too and ive been to hundreds of shows. The guy who said they are like nazis are spot on. No lighters or cigarettes allowed in the building. Will violently toss you out if caught smoking. Its crowded. You will be propsitioned by crackheads waiting outside before and after the show. There is nothing redeemable about this venue and I have actually attempted my own boycott and have succeded in convincing some fairly big name bands to never return there. Avoid Bogarts at all costs.
Pros: Decent Bands
Cons: Staff are Nazis who will assault you. Its dirty. Its the worst venue you can go to.

Over the last 30 years I have attended various shows at Bogart's in Cincinnati.
I am DONE! I love music and really like to support bands, local venues and live music in general. But I decided at the Toadies show last Saturday that I will never spend another dime at Bogart's.
The rules are always different although I don't know if they will change much from where they are unless they are gonna restrict the clothing you can wear! They act like Nazis, it wouldn't surprise me if when ya got in there they just gassed us and filled the place up again!
Long lines, very little staff doing anything other than being rude. They allow rude beggars and ticket sharks to butt in line and harass you for money while you wait for the chick who is talking on the phone to someone to SLOWLY sell tickets. Pre-paying for will-call tickets with this Live-Nation entity is of no advantage just get in line and wait to be hassled!
One drink per person at a time after waiting in line for 10 minutes (this only seems to apply to folks that are not friends with the bartenders)! No lighters, no anything like a ball point pen in your checkbook. No ventilation, disgusting restrooms no seating. The threat of ejection for a laundry list of stuff.
No fun.
I will take my business somewhere that they appreciate it and I will urge everyone to do the same!
Pros: They get some good bands in there!
Cons: Everything else about the place is LAME!

I don't know what the first 2 people were talking about (one couldn't even spell conCert correctly...)--I absolutely love Bogarts! I think Bogarts is a great place to see a concert! It is much more intimate than other venues and even though there may be a bit of a grunge factor, it makes it all the more loveable.
Overall, I think Bogarts is a great place to see up-and-comers and established artists....it's a great place to get away and just rock out.
***Tickets prices are incredibly reasonably (READ: totally affordable)...
***They have a balcon which is great if you don't want to be too close to the craziness near the stage
***Several bars--and yes you may have to wait to get a beer, but is there any bar or concert venue where you wouldn't?
Bogarts has a great atmosphere, it is unlike anywhere else.
Pros: ***Great atmosphere, sound system and acts,;easy parking, reasonable ticket prices***
Cons: none

I traveled from Louisville, KY to here to see Chimaira play.
I'm picky about Venues.... a few things I didn't appreciate were I wasn't allowed to take in my sharpie.... that was alright, I figured if I were to meet anyone, they should have a marker. Lol.
No re admittance after leaving isn't very nice. Its a small venue and if you need to get some fresh air.. I don't see why you shouldn't be allowed to get some and come back in.
A few things I DID appreciate.
They allowed me to bring my digital camera in. No flash, which is fine, because flash ruins most pictures. This is one of my first venues that allowed my digital camera. =)
No smoking was another I appreciated. Smoke irritates my eyes and makes me smell horrible after the show... even if its a metal show, I don't feel like getting stabbed with a burning cigarette.
Security was pretty good with making sure no one got hurt... even though when they entered the mosh pit to help people out, they were caught up in it, which I found hilarious.
Overall its a great venue and I would like to return. =)

This was the worst venue that I've ever seen a concert at! The beer is in an overpriced dixie cup that you have to wait in line for, and they are sold one per person per trip to the "bar." The place is packed way past capacity and tickets are overpriced. Once you enter, you can't leave unless you pay for another ticket, so don't expect to actually see anything on stage unless you come at opening time. Don't expect to hear the band either because of bad acoustics. The bathrooms are filthy. I will never go back to Bogarts.
Cons: everything

Saw "Regina Spektor" there, she was great! The best singer-songwriter in todays world. Worst place for a concert that I have been to in 45yrs. What the world are ya thinking, standing at a concert? Might be okay for junk rock groups for kids, not for a classical song writer like Regina Spektor. But I wouldn't see any concert there. Sound system was bad, people were talking, didn't care who was on stage. Not a good place. Bring lots a change for the street people, they will drive you nuts. Never go THERE again. Workers were nice though.

While Bogarts does bring a few good acts to town, they overcharge for tickets considering what they offer. Once you are inside the building, you are not allowed to receive re-admittance if you leave, which is annoying considering that the place is so small that if you come late, you will have a terrible view of the show. Also, the ventilation system is bad, so you will be really hot and packed like sardines. The stage is not extremely raised, so you will also have a problem seeing if you are late. And to make matters worse, the acoustics are terrible from the balcony. Other than those things, Bogarts has the only bar I've ever seen where you have to stand in line for a drink. You will wait fifteen minutes for a dixie cup full of draft beer for $4.50, and for those who don't drink alcohol, get ready to pay $2.75 for a water. Bogarts is a bad venue and a rip-off. I will never see a show there again!

Bogart's is not only one of Cincinnati's Crown Jewels, this legendary club is known and respected worldwide. Concerts there are the best. Now that I no longer live in Cincinnati, it is one of the things that I miss. Cincinnati is lucky to have this place, and hopefully it will be around to bring live music to the area for 30 more years and beyond. I mean everyone has played there. I saw U2, Prince, The Police, Dave Matthews and so many more shows there. I suggest if you haven't been to a show there you're missing alot.
Pros: The best in live music anywhere.
