The Freedom Center is housed in a beautiful building and really makes a statement. Admission is a little steep but as the other reviewer stated, everyone should go there at least once. There are lots of interactive items throughout. I highly recommend checking out the slave-pen. Very disturbing...along the same lines as the Holocaust museum in Washington DC. But everyone should see them both at least once.

This museum is not just pictures on a wall but is quite interactive. Including movies, life size examples, things to touch, beautiful artwork, written explanations, et cetera.
When I went I walked up to hear a live choir filling the room with inspiring music.
It was a little too crowded to enjoy thoroughly as we went on a free day, but I'm sure I would get even more out of it if I went on a regular business day.
If you haven't been there - make an effort to do so!

I took my young family to see the Freedom Center and it made an impact on everyone. The strength of the Center is its series of well-crafted mini movies which puts you in the position of a runaway slave. It had more information posted than I could read, especially with young kids dragging me out of the exhibit halls. You might want to come back a second time to take in all the written info as the kids will be more interested in the interactive components. The problem is the museum is priced too expensively to make repeated visits feasible so if you want a number of visits you should enquire about a membership. Despite the hefty price, everyone should try it at least once as you will leave it a deeper person.
