I had an awesome experience at this salon. This is a learning salon and the students are highly trained and the instructors are amazing and very kind and supportive yet serious. My Full Foil and hair cut usually cost $130-$160, plus tip. I got out for $60 and they wouldn't accept a tip. The whole process took about 4 hours, which is only about 30 min longer, and for a savings of over $100, it was worth it to me. I suggest you go to this place... they are awesome!

this is right by where i live. It is a school and you can get services performed there by students and it is so inexpensive. I know people that come here that are so loyal to it. You get treated really good here. It isnt like institutuinal or anything. You receive a stress-relieving treatment and it is really nice. When you get services performed, it isnt scary because the teacher pretty much watches over before the student cuts. Plus you can get your makeup done, manicures, pedicures, facials, waxing. It is really great. Plus I love the smell of Aveda.

Getting your 'hair did' with top notch products is a woman's dream. To get it done for pennies on the dollar compared to other salons is pure bliss. Although this is a training salon, and you are getting your hair done by students, neither I nor any of my friends (including my husband and brother) have ever had a bad experience. A teacher is watching every move before it happens, and the results are just as good as any high end salon. In addition, you get served refreshments, offered a mini facial with any hair service, and this place has full spa service options. The only drawback is the wait- schedule well far in advance of your need.

Frederick's Institute has pretty much a full list of services that any regular salon will offer. The difference is that you are being serviced by a graduating student. You can get anything from a haircut to pedicure or manicure. The staff is very young and cheerful. I've really enjoyed getting my spa pedicure for a very very reasonable price. You get a choice of OPI colors and can really enjoy the foot massage after long foot soak full of Aveda aroma. I would give this place a GOOD rating only because the experience totally depends on who you get and what service you sign up for. Appointments are scheduled for normal business hours or Saturdays, which go very quickly. I've had to sign up as far as 2 months in advance.

I have been to the Aveda Fredrics Institute many times. The people there are very kind, service was great. Prices can't be beat, they serve you hot tea and give you mini facials with any hair service. And they do an excellent job. The atmosphere is very comfortable...albeit a little noisy and busy. Worth it though, for what you get. Pros: royal treatment at bargain prices
