Cincinnati has a great downtown library. While it is much larger than many other branches, they have a great collection of books, periodicals, research material, etc. I love walking to the library on my lunch hour to find some new and interesting books. There is a small enclosed garden that is part of the library, and it is a wonderful place to sit and read in the summer. There are also chairs that face large windows to the garden which are nice, too. I haven't had any problems reserving a book or checking things out. They are very helpful!

I love going to the library for a couple of reasons. First, you can get relatively new releases of DVD's for free - just make sure to go during the day or early Friday to beat the weekend crowd. Downtown location has the best selection although there are also more patrons. I also get books - reservations as well as renewals are easily processed online. All you have to do is pick-up and drop-off.

This facility is centrally located to serve Finneytown, North College Hill, Winton Woods, and Wyoming. The facility boasts a fitness center complete with ellipitical trainers, treadmills, bicycles, and rowing machines plus free and machine weights. There are three pools-a regular indoor pool, an outdoor pool, baby pool, and a waterpark! The waterpark is just a year old and has a huge slide, a lazy river, lap lanes, and tons of stuff for kids to do. There are lots of swimming lessons available, gym classes, gymnastics, and a wide range of exercise classes plus art, karate, and other offerings. There is child care available, plus day care and an after-school program. Workers here are extremely friendly and helpful. However, if you need to reach an administrator, go to the front desk because voicemail messages are rarely returned.

Mental Health Services East is a not for profit counseling center for adults and children. I beleive now they are only operating for Medicaid and Medicare. The staff is super friendly and very discrete. They operate on a sliding fee scale so there is little cost to low income families. The location is quite convenient. There is a little bit of a wait list for new clients, though.

I originally joined this YMCA in order to get into shape. They have a really nice olympic size pool which I like to swim laps in, but the free swims are not scheduled very frequently. The gym equiptment is OK...not as high-tech and nice as other YMCA's I have seen, but this is the closest to me. They have lots of summer camps for children which is a good thing.

Me and my whole family always go here every Sunday for mass. I mean they are like any other church but the Priest here that always conduct the mass always talk about realistic and valuable sermons. We are Christians ourselves and we relate to all the sermons with our lives. It is very enlightening. People are friendly too (even though we are only the few minorities in there) and they accept us as who we are.

Grace Church members are black & white, straight & gay, old & young, US-born & immigrant, liberal & conservative, yet we are all committed to supporting each other in living a Christian life.
Lots of church preach diversity, and I've always felt strange listening to that message in churches that were mono-cultural. But Grace is actually practicing what it preaches.
