I like this store because it is cozy and doesn't have that commerce feel that I get in chain bookstores. They have a fabulous selection of kids books and the staff is the most knowledgeable I have come across. The store is very child friendly . Parking can be tricky unless you are very observant. There is a lot you can park in that isn't well advertised. Otherwise there are a few meters in front of the building.

This is a quant and cozy little children’s bookstore. It is perfect for those who would like a get away from overcrowded and impersonal booksellers. They have a great selection of the best children’s books out right now along with hand-made crafts, finger puppets and a nice play area. Blue Manatee is well know for their weekly children’s story times (offered on Wednesday and Thursday mornings at 10:30 a.m.) with the infamous Mrs. Katie and her wonderful guitar. She lights up children’s faces with her wonderful story telling and singing. Your children, as well as you, will fall in love with this adorable little bookshop.

There are no adult thrillers at the Blue Manatee, but there are children's books galore! Your budding reader will get lost in the selection at the Blue Manatee. The store is very child friendly. The Blue Manatee also hosts several reading events for kids. There should be more book stores that cater to youth like the Blue Manatee does. It is a wonderful place.
