I tend to always shop at Hyde Park WIne and Spirits when I am in search of alcoholic beverages. They have a huge selection of imported beers and wines. Their hard liquor section is quite large as well. The staff is beyond friendly and treat you very nice. The store is very welcoming and tidy and it is very easy to find what you are looking for. PRices are average as far as liquor goes.

My wife and I held our wedding reception at the Phoenix, in the Grand Ballroom, and it was wonderful. While I am bias, it was the best reception I have ever been to (and I have been to a few of them). I am still getting compliments about the Fillet Minion to this day from our guests.
Pros: Staircase, Wonderful Ambience, Great Food
Cons: Expensive, Exclusive, No Hotel

The store is very small, in fact you walk down Hyde Park square you can easily miss it. Inside the place you have to walk very carefully, squeezing in between shelves that are packed with all kinds of gourmet items. Wine selection is spectacular and the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. They will order anything for you, if they don't carry it. I was surprised to find black caviar, and frozen baguettes which can be stored in the freezer forever, but still taste great when you bake them.

Here they really know their wines... the owner lived in Europe where he worked with the wineries and distributors who supply wines to the store. You can ask any kind of question about wine and get a good answer or suggestion. For those wanting to try something new, there are regular wine tastings or you can get a subscription and every month you can pick up or they will deliver 1 white and 1 red. They will order if what you want is not in stock.

Listermann's Brewing Supply in Cincinnati has a huge selection of home brewing equipment and ingredients at great prices. They have an entire room of different malts, and you can grind your own barley on the spot for ultimate freshness. They also have a walk in refrigerator full of different yeasts. This place is ideal if you brew your own beer, mead, or wine since they have just about any possible ingredient you could want. If they don't have it, they'll definitely order it for you or let you know the best place to get it. The staff are all very knowledgable which is key for a home brew shop. In addition, don't forget to taste a wine or mead at the attached winery.

An excellent collection of the best cigars, at Ohio tax rates. Straus sells enough product to ge shipments of rare Fuente and other brands (Anejo, Opus X, etc.), but not so much that it all goes to "special" customers. Very knowledgeable staff, and a group of "rugulars" who come to smoke and are pleased to offer advice. The only better shops I have found are in Miami and four blocks away at the Cincinnati Tobacconist.

Jeff's drive thru has a convenience store along with their drive thru and gas station. They have a large wine selection and are reasonably priced. Their location is convenient on the west side of town. You can expect to see the same employees when you stop in in the morning and they have consistent service.

Smoothie King is so delicious. They are really big portions as well. One thing that I enjoy is when they have coupons that come in the mail. They are pretty good coupons like buy one get one free, etc. Or get a free smoothie, etc. The ingredients are all really fresh and nice. The fruit is so good and they have such a huge variety of choices. good healthy choice.

The store's name would lead one to believe that they carry a selection of wines from the vineyard, but they carry none.
Pros: Good selection of differing wines.
Cons: No wines carried under the location's namesake.

I suppose the end may justify the means in this case as Jim Bean does produce some good liquor, but the stench that comes from their factory as you drive past on I-75 is abominable! I understand that would happen anywhere they are located, but it's horrible to drive by to and from my way to work with such a smell. I can only imagine their facilities are even worse.
