Safer Arms Indoor range in Chico has been one of the very few places in the area where you can go in and get great professional advice from a knowledgeable staff on a wide selection of firearms. Everything from blackpowder guns to hunting rifles to handguns to reloading equipment is in stock and available for sale. There is a nice selection of rental guns that you can shoot as a sort of "test drive" if you are in the market for a gun. The range is clean and well equipped for the most part. The only drawback to the range is that you can only point your weapon downrange and fire slowly. Any double taps or presentations from your carry gear (drawing) will get you a polite consultation from the range master. However, In todays litigious society, it may not be their fault. All in all, a great place to shoot, shop or kill a half hour browsing while the wife (or Hubby?) shops elsewhere.

After going to over a dozen bridal shops in Redding, Sacramento, Reno and Chico...I really like this shop. Has a good selection...comparable to shops in larger cities. The girls were very helpful and not pushy at all. I was given just the right amount of attention and help. No one was "snooty". Very down to earth. Good experience and prices.

My experience at Suzanne's has been different. Maybe maturity has something to do with what one expects from a bridal shopping experience. I'm 48. Suzanne's was my second stop. Although I have purchased a number of formal gowns at Corwin's, I was not impressed with their selection of gowns nor with the idea of having to look through a very limited catalog to see what they had in the store. At Suzanne's, I described my perfect gown to the attendant and she brought several for me to choose from. I didn't have to paw through all of the dresses to find what I was looking for. Although at first glance, I felt the final dress that she brought was totally inappropriate, I trusted her knowledge of her stock and what would work on my body style. The dress was perfect!! And, it was not the most, nor the least expensive, but well within my budget expectations.
I would agree that the space is a bit cramped. I would also expect sales people - especially those on commission, if indeed they are - to attempt to boost their sales. Duh. That's their job!! Perhaps the Princess Brides need to take a look at their own expectations and attitudes.

The best carrot cake in town and quite possibly in all of California!SOOOO good that we had it for our wedding cake! With the moist cake perfectly sweetened and the cream cheese frosting so delicious we will be forever Upper Crust regulars! Let's not forget to mention the wonderful sandwiches, quiches, pastries, and coffee. I have NEVER had anything there I didn't LOVE.Parking is a bit of a pain, located on Main St. downtown, but well worth the effort!

This has got to be the most amazing store in downtown Chico. If you can find an arm load of treasures in this store there is definitely something wrong. Every toy you cherished in your childhood to the most incredible new and innovative trinkets and toys are all in this shop. The Yo-Yo Museum is a must see. If you are planning to dive into the heart of Chico, Bird In Hand has got to be on your agenda.

This shoe store is amazing. They have a HUGE selection of shoes, and just about every name brand you can imagine. It has a great selection of Doc Martens, which you can't find anywhere else in Chico that I know of. Also, if you love flip-flops, well then you will be in heaven. What a selection! I think this is a shoe-aholics paradise!
