Mi Francesca offers terrific Italian cuisine and the hords of people that pack the restaurant most nights are a testament to that fact. The cuisine is primarily northern italian. The winelist is good. On weekend nights, the place is loud and busy. In this price range, I wouldn't say it's the best place for Italian in Chicago (Cafe Spiaggia is better) but it is certainly a safe bet. It's also really easy to get to - 2-3 blocks east of the Belmont El stop.

There were many delicious entrees to chose from and honestly the specials also looked delicious. Any choice you make you will not be disappointed. Their caprese salad was fabulous. Any of their pizzas are a great choice as well.
I definitely recommend going on a week night, on the weekends it can get very crowded.

Every time I am in the mood for Italian food I go to Mia Francesca. The food is always fresh and service is top notch. I like how the menu changes often and while they keep their staples there. This place does get crowded during the weekends, but is worth the wait. You can make reservations in advance, but that sometimes doesn't mean anything. But, enjoy the bar and people watch.

This is the best place for Italian food in Chicago. The freshness of everything makes you feel like you are eating in a cafe in the streets of Lucca or Florence. The salads are to die for (sugar snap pea and tomato and cukes is a winner) and the pastas, ahhh the pastas. The gnocchi melts in your mouth, I often order the Conchiglie Carrettiera and fantasize about it when I am far away! Don't miss this amazing place for Italian food.
