I have been going to Vi for more years than I can remember. She is an absolute artist with color. Really listens, understands your "issues" and always has great suggestions. The salon is beautiful and very comfortable. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful. I would recommend to everyone. Enjoy!
Pros: QUALITY AND COMFORT-Great Color-Great Cut
Cons: ZERO!

Gibson's is one of my favorite steakhouses in the city. The food is so good. I highly recommend the filet as well as the mashed potatoes. The desserts are out of this world - try the Muddy Bottom, which has oreo crust, ice cream and macadamia nuts. Definitely a fun place for dinner as well, with great people watching.
Pros: Great location, amazing steak, fabulous desserts
Cons: Long wait if you don't have reservations

You cannot go wrong attending a Cubs game. It is an experience from start to finish. Amazing atmosphere, picturesque setting (if you're the sort that appreciates cityscapes), and an incredibly loyal fanbase. I lived in Chicago for 4 years and one of my most favorite things about that wonderful city is the experience Wrigley and the Cubs provide 81 days out of every year. Do yourself a favor and go if you get the chance.

Service attentive - diners name given to waitstaff - service is good and prompt without being oppressive. Servers answer questions - do not upsell or oversell. Steaks (hers- special Filet; mine 14 oz Sirloin} were just outstanding and cooked to perfection. A "small" side of au gratin potatoes ($5) easily enough for two. Drawback is wines by the glass list - seriously overpriced. Hard for diners, in this day, to pay $11-12/glass (Chateau St. Michelle Merlot) for something you pay less than $20 for @ Sam's or Binny's. Avoid the cheaper wines on the wine by the Glass list (the Alderbrook Zin @ $8 is really mediocre).
Pros: Steaks perfect - food quality excellent - great service
Cons: Wines grossly overpriced

Ever since my stylist moved over a year ago, I have been searching high and low for a new stylist. I'm very picky when it comes to my hair so I decided to take a risk and try Honeychild. I called first and asked who would they recommend for a bob. The person recommended Bambi. My appointment was at 4:45 and I was leaving at 5:30, wash, blowdry, cut and style! This was the best experience at a salon I have ever had! Bambi was everything I'd been searching for professionalism, efficiency and an overall FANTASTIC stylist. Everywhere I go I get complimented on my new cut! I don't have to search anymore because I've found my new stylist. It was a bit pricey for the cut ($100) but it was well, well worth it!
Pros: No long waits, Great shampoo, Professional
Cons: Parking

I am that picky girl..the type that knows exactly what she wants and is not afraid to go back if it's not right..on the other hand I am the first person to compliment a job 'well done'..that's why I need to mention Queenie. I have to admit when I walked into Big Hair that I was a little intimidated by the atmosphere..I normally tend to lean towards a salon environment, but TIME CONSTRAINTS and FUNDS the other weekend forced me to grasp at straws and go completely out of the box on a referral from a friend...I WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!!! Queenie was awesome-she listened to exactly what I wanted and did it perfectly-keeping me entertained the whole time!! I felt like I knew her forever and didn't feel uncomfortable expressing how I wanted the color to look..The cut is great and my color looks so natural-I have gotten so many compliments and I still can't believe how inexpensive everything was..Big Hair has def got a return customer!
Pros: Queenie and COST!!!!!!!!!!
Cons: Unfortunately I don't live close <--but worth the trip!!

I have been going to this place with my family for my whole life. everyone I bring there loves it too!
You MUST try the mediterranean bread WITH the antipasta salad. The key is the two homemade dressings (yes they sell bottles for you to take home)
creamy garlic and sweet poppyseed.
mix them together and it's perfection!
Out of the dozens of visits,, I've only ordered the grinders once.
We go for the pizza
please try it and remember it is cash only!
Pros: cozy atmosphere and yummy bread and salad!
Cons: cash only

So the first thing you notice when you walk in is that there's a rather large area behind the counter where you place your order. That's not because the barista need room to run. It's because there are bags and bags of fresh-roasted beans there. I've been known to go miles out of my way to get a cup at this place. There's lots of people I know that do the same thing, so you get a nice mix of Loyola students and other folks that come here strictly for the brew. Delicious, and it'll keep you awake for your travels back south.
