My breaks went out in front of this place, so I pulled in... and thus began the worst car related nightmare of my life.
They repaired my breaks --for what turned out to be twice the price originally quoted-- and threw in a bunch of free oil change coupons. I did go back for the oil change and they found lots of things wrong with my car. I didn't think that I really needed those repairs, so I didn't agree to get that work done, but not long after that, my gears went out completely.
So, I had my car towed over there and the next day the mechanic called to say that I needed transmission work, and by the way, a brand new battery too --even though I'd never had a problem with old one. But, silly me, I okay the work, which I was told was going to take a few days. After a few days, I call to find out about the progress of my car and, No, it's not ready yet. Finally, after about a week, I call and they say, Okay, your car is back, and I'm like, Back from where? Turns out they sen

I bought four New Tires for my Nissan Altima in 2006 and in 2007 tires were dry rotting. Brought my vehicle in and had them check them out and was told that this was normal. Wow! I've work in the auto industry for over 14 years and was surprised when I was told this. The Owner is only nice at the beginning of the Sale and after that his a jerk. I was recommended by TireRack.com what a mistake that was never again will I recommend this place. Please be WARNED stay away...

It is so nice to still have some places around that are old time honest. I went to Lucas last week with a screw in one of my tires. Went for a walk, and, by the time I got back, they had taken off the tire and seen that the screw had not gone through, yanked it, and I was good to go.
And, then they said: No Charge. I told them they had to take something, but they refused, but said I could tip the worker. I surely appreciate their way of doing business. One day there will be no more places that would even do a small job, and , let alone, not charge anything.
This week, I had noticed my low tire pressure light on. I thought I needed a new tire and returned to Lucas to get one. As it turned out, I did not need a new tire (even though they could have sold me one).
What triggered my (low pressure) light was that one of the back tires was really low on air even though it did not look the least bit flat. Even though they had taken two tires off my car and checked t

This place is your old fashioned screw the customer over type of mechanic shop.The type that creates more problems with your car than what you had before you went there. In my case I brought my suv there to have four new tires installed. After we got the truck back and drove it only a short distance the in dash display said we had a tire sensor fault, and we could hear a thumping sound. So we brought it back to lucas and they told us that we must have hit a pothole and broke the sensor that is on the inside of the tire strapped to the rim.
It seemed a little odd that this would happen right after we had tires changed. So after a very rude exchange with a so called master mechanic (greg) who basically told us that we had no clue about anything to do with cars (which we do have a clue) we left with our broken sensor. After some research on the computer and talking to some actual honest mechanics we found that 99% of the time that these sensors become damaged is from someone that does not

Unless you like very rude, uncourteous, talk behind your back staff along with inexperienced shop workers who are so clumsy that they dropped my expensive wheel face down and scratched it (luckily I was there to see it, after which they told me to leave the service area due to insurance regulations). They also try to take advantage of you by trying to sell you unnecessary services. Worst tire shop I've ever been to. You will save yourself a lot of stress (and probably money as well) by taking your car somewhere else.

My neighbor recommended Lucas for muffler work. I now know I should have come to this site first, would have learned alot. Okay heres the story: A garage specializing in Hondas replaced my clutch this week. I knew there was also a problem with my muffler/exhaust, so I had them look at this too, was told the muffler did indeed require replacement but the ** rest of the exhaust was fine.** He said he could replace the muffler but recommended having the work done at a muffler shop to save money because he only dealt with Honda parts. (nice guys there at haas). Didn't tell the folks at Lucas this thinking I would see if they'd try to rip me off. They tried. The estimate was for way more than just the muffler. (muffler + additional tail-pipe. total $180. A muffler should run $80-$100 max). My mistake was not knowing they'd charge me $25 for looking at my car. Just one person reading this and choosing to go anywhere other than Lucas Tires on Western ave. and it's worth it. As for my neighbo

My car was making this loud noise I didn???t know what to do. A friend told me to take it to Lucas Tire. The girl at the counter was very friendly and helped me. She explained in detail what was wrong and how much it would cost. They fixed my car in one day and it works great! Being a woman and not knowing anything about cars I feel very please with Lucas Tire. I highly recommend them and will use them again the next time my car needs anything. Thanks
