My wife her sister and I attended "Menopause the Musical" last week. it's a nice venue with good views and acoustics.
The theater is accessible through a small outside elevator added later and the accessible seats preovided a nice view.
The staff was helpful. We had a very good time.

I love this venue, I really do, but sometimes you have to wonder if it's going to fall down on your head. Ha! My sister and I went here for Jason Mraz concert in Oct 2005, my sister for Relient K in Nov 2005 and both concerts were AWESOME. The theater staff was very nice (we had a lady in a wheelchair with us for the Mraz concert and they were VERY helpful getting her a place to watch the concert).

This theatre is amazing. It looks okay from the exterior, but the interior of the building is real pretty. Its nicely built with a nice view from every seat. There are all sorts of shows held here-- mostly operas and musicals. There'[s a show here almost every weekend. The only inconvenience is the parking. Its hard to find parking nearby and it costs a lot to park.

We came here to see a modern dance performance and the dancers were GREAT. We were very impressed with their skills. It was pretty modern though, and a little strange. Still, we tried to enjoy it. The facility is very nice, recently built with a little coffee area to chill in during intermission. Came here with my girlfriend/now wife on one of our first dates. :>)

It was a pretty good show - basically it's an hour and a half of people acting (and supposedly singing) like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr. and Joey Bishop.
We were given accessible seats in the theater, but they weren't that accessible. We had to get my wife out of the wheelchair and into a seat because the wheelchair could not be maneuvered into a view of the stage.
I did enjoy the show. it was written by Sandy Hackett, son of the late Buddy Hackett. Sandy portrayed Joey Bishop. The best voice belonged to the actor who portrayed Sammy Davis. The actor portraying Sinatra had a solid voice and was pretty good with the mannerisms. I didn't like the Dean Martin actor. he didn't have much of a singing voice and it seemed like the part he was portraying wasn't really singing seriously.
The Joey Bishop part wasn't all that funny, but sometimes Joey wasn't all that funny.
The instrumental musicians were wonderful.
So, we all hgad a very good time. Having the cast shake hands with the attendees on the way out was a bonus.
It was a pretty sparse crowd (maybe 40% full, not including the balcony) for a name Chicago theater on a Saturday night.

I loved the show "Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind." It was pretty off the wall and not at all what I was expecting...but then again I really wasn't sure what to expect from this place! You have to climb all through the building to get to the area where they put on the plays and roll a die to determine the price of admission. I especially loved the Hall of Presidents! They have interesting artistic interpretations of our first 42 presidents. My favorite featured JFK as an angel proclaiming "Ich Bien En Deity." After rolling the die, you get a goofy name tag with a strange name (I was Yee Haw and my companion was "I love Yee Haw"). The plays in the show range from intense emotional insights into the player's life to the ridiculous, like "April Showers." In this "play" they just sprayed the audience with water! It's a great show to check out!

This centrally based Chicago Theatre offers some of the best live productions in town, but there are a few secrets to making your experience the best. First, try and see something during the week; weekends can be notoriously crowded and cabs hard to find. Parking is pricey but conveniently located across the street. Second, be sure and get on their e-mailing list; you will be offered deals to plays you won't hear about anywhere else. Third, be sure and make a reservation next door. Petterino's Restaurant is a gem in the city and makes sure you get to the theatre on time, but it can be extremely busy on theate nights, especially in the bar area. It's worth planning ahead.

I actually like this theater because of those qualities. The tickets are a steal--and if it happens to be playing a movie you want to watch, it is definitely worth it. I haven't encountered the loudmouth moviegoers, sticky popcorn or anything--I think because few people go there, it is more peaceful, and no one really minds anything. They don't have a huge selection of movies, and the theater certainly isn't normal-sized, but the price and the peace will be worth it.

The performers here put an a really unique show. You know this is a special place from the moment you're let in. The cost of admission is $7 plus the roll of a die. You're let into their little apartment to sit in a little waiting room while they prepare not knowing what to expect. They collect your tokens and have you roll your die. Make sure you get here early as the place can sell out pretty fast. They perform a variety of "plays" but their staple is "Too Much Light Makes a Baby Go Blind" - which in reality, is a collection of 30 two-minute fast paced sketches, plays, and monologues all democratically determined by shouts from the crowd. Most skits will make you laugh out loud but a few are serious and will make you think. This is a very unique theatre experience that I would highly recommend to anyone. The best part about this place is that the sketches are always changed as is the order of the sketches. Each performance determines how many new skits the performers have to come up with their upcoming show so there will always be several "world-premieres." Another great bonus is that if their show sells out for the night - they will order pizza for the house to enjoy! Great times will be had!

This is not only a landmark that bears the name of our great city, it's a spectacular venue for concerts, plays as well as corporate and private events. The architecture is stunning. This place has welcomed many of the great entertainers in my time and way before my time here. I have had the pleasure of being backstage and have some interesting stories to tell also. The long running play Joseph was presented here a few years ago. This place has such an amazing history.
