The Auditorium Theatre has been a Chicago institution for so long that it's easy to forget what a great performance space this is. I've seen Broadway-style musicals here, and the acoustics are fantastic. Even in the very high seats (don't arrive after it begins, the stairs need light for negotiating), you will be able to hear beautifully. This is a favorite spot to see the world's best ballet companies, too. Give yourself time to negotiate the crowds at most events held here. Expect to spend big bucks for world class entertainment.

This was the place where I recently caught the sold-out Zappa plays Zappa show. I could only afford tickets to the second balcony, so naturally I was a bit worried. The soundsystem and acoustics are wonderful given the theater's dimensions: huge by huge. Overall, a great place to catch a sit-down show.

I've also been here to see Julian Lennon and some other great shows and concerts. The (endless walk) up to the highest balcony is kind of scary, but the theatre is wonderful and the sound is first rate.

The Auditorium Theatre is one of the most accomplished projects designed by the architecture team of Adler and Sullivan. It features outstanding acoustics as well as a superior architectural design. The interior of the main hall is stunning, although some of the seating areas are aging. When I was at a concert one fellow’s seat back fell off so he had to be seated elsewhere.

This Theatre is a Chicago Landmark. Designed by Adler and Sullivan, it has long be noted for its perfect acoustics and timeless design.
A great place to see dance or hear a musical performance, it offers the consummate theatre experience. It sat neglected for many years and was finally refurbished and returned to its original glory, and reopened to a grateful public.
This is the place to see the class acts, the Bolshoi Ballet, Alvin Ailey, the Joffrey, Les Mis, etc. Treat yourself and your loved ones

I watched a broadway show at Auditorium Theatre and it was excellent. It's your old style theatre that is warm and cozy. It was renovated recently and the sound is clear although the box seats we were sitting blocked 1/8 of the stage. Parking is underground but plentiful. One of Chicago's historic landmarks, this theatre is a must see if there is any broadway shows from Phatom of the Opera to Les Miserables.
