This is not only a landmark that bears the name of our great city, it's a spectacular venue for concerts, plays as well as corporate and private events. The architecture is stunning. This place has welcomed many of the great entertainers in my time and way before my time here. I have had the pleasure of being backstage and have some interesting stories to tell also. The long running play Joseph was presented here a few years ago. This place has such an amazing history.

We Chicagoans are so proud of this theatre. What a beautiful place. Good acoustics surrounded by a regal looking decor. Right in the heart of downtown with plenty of things to do all around. Remodeled a few years ago. Some of the biggest productions come thru here, including the long running Wicked.

I think Navy Pier is a great place to visit for the entire family. We always take the kids here during the summer because they really enjoy all the activities this place has to offer. There's a nice little carnival in the middle, with kiddie rides like the swings and the merry go round. There's also lots of places to eat that the whole family can enjoy, like the haagan daaz cafe. Its a great place to take kids and its equally enjoyable for adults as well because there is so much to do. You will run into a lot of tourists, but that's just part of the excitement of this place.

This theater or playhouse as some may call it has alot of character. I saw a really interesting and well-acted play here title "The Irish and How They Got That Way".
There were aprox. one hundred people that attended. The theater doesn't seat much more than one hundred people. Even though it is an older building, it is excellent shape. It is connected to Cullen's Bar and the hallways are filled with works of art, lobby posters and tons of signed photos from famous playwrites, authors and musicians.

I was in Chicago theater for performing arts for a tango festival. The parking around is kind of a pain to find, but the theater itself is rather nice and cosy (small, too - the main auditorium has room for maybe 150 people). The upholstery is neat and clean, and the seating arrangement is the best I'd seen - enough legroom, wide seats, and very high incline. We sat in the back row, and could see everything perfectly! I wish more theaters were that comfortable!

This theatre that is located at McCormick Place is known for their terrific sound system. It is obviously easy to get to and has plenty of parking. One of my all time favorite concerts I saw here which made the best use of their sound system imaginable was Roger Waters & Friends. They used to host more concerts than they do these days or they just advertised alot more.

Highly recommended: I actually called because I had a question about Bulls Tickets and they walked me through their website and got even better ticket than I expected. Tickets were Fed Ex to my home and it was simple and easy. We are fired up for the Bulls this year and I will be back to get Bears tickets too. This is a great ticket service - tons of ticket inventory too.

The acoustics are terrific in this beautiful and historic hall. There is not a bad seat in the house, because of the way it is designed. They of course feature classical concerts , but also have jazz , pop or choral concerts as well. The great Ravi Shanker even played here last year. I had the honor of singing in a choir here some years ago. I feel this place is a must see when visiting Chicago.

Okay, so the seats are not too comfortable after more than an hour of sitting, but the slight discomfort is worth it. I saw a few plays there, of which the most memorable was BUG. Even when you sit in the back, it feels like you are close. The theater is located in a really nice area, close to plenty of good restaurants in various price ranges. I love Jerusalem Caffe or Hamachi sushi bar just a couple of blocks south.

The new name for this historic theater and building is the LaSalle Bank Theatre. Did you notice how many banks and corporations are naming things after themselves these days. The theatre is celebrating it's 100th birthday this year. Beautiful architecture both inside and out grace this building that was first called the Majestic Theatre in 1906. Starting next month will be a play featuring the very funny and wacky Martin Short entitled Martin Short:Fame Becomes Me.
