I saw the Matrix trilogy here and it was awesome. There is nothing like a screen that large to watch an action movie on. One thing that I don't care for about this theater is that it always seems dirty. The last time that I went here I could hear myself walking because the ground was sticky from who knows what.

This place is always packed with a lot of tourists, and there is a reason. Navy Pier is fun, diverse and lively. You can visit the giant ferris wheel or go have dinner at one of the many restaurants. Luxury cruise ships and speed boats are docked here for your pleasure. Or you can go for a cruise on the Anita Dee boat that is neither a luxury or speed boat. You can even see a Shakespearean play performed at their very own Chicago Shakespeare Theatre. How about the Grand Ballroom and just walking up and down the pier? What a view!

The IMAX theater is located on the Navy Pier and it is a very exciting experience. While you will pay a bit more to watch a movie here than at a conventional theater, you will definitely be able to see the difference. The 3D aspect of this theater adds a whole new dimension to the experience of the movie. The theater is great too. Its in a nice, lively location and the theater is well kept and seating is really comfy. The only thing you might want to do is buy tickets online because they sell out fast. Also, parking can be expensive, so consider public transportation.

Personally, I've always considered Navy Pier to be a bit of a tourist trap. While there are parts of it that are very cool (the Ferris wheel, the outstanding view of the skyline), most of the shopping available there isn't really much more than cheap trinkets. The restaurants are okay, but really nothing to write home about. Navy Pier would benefit from more shopping and dining that is somehow unique to Chicago.

If you can see the latest release here.. do it. It's worth the price. I've seen three films (one of the Matrix trilogy) and it's amazing. It's a great location too, though parking at Navy Pier is a bit expensive - the upside is there's usally always room to park. A great date experience since you can browse the pier after or before the movie.

I would like to see them lower the prices a tad or offer specials. Try to go at off times so you can enjoy the film as much as possible.

It's not only the tourists that love Navy Pier. Many of us life long residents enjoy it as well. This is one of my favorite places to go. I love being here when it's not crowded (trust me, I always know when to avoid crowds even in the middle of July) because you can do so much and just relax and enjoy. I love the boat rides, the outdoor concerts in the summer at the Skyline Stage, the nice restaurants and shops, the gorgeous IMAX theater and especially the carnival rides and miniature golf. And how can not be amazed at the skyline view of the city and the grand ballroom at the end of the Pier. Magnificent!

A tour of Chicago is really not complete until you spend some time at Navy Pier. It is a beautiful place to be all year round. In the summer, you can enjoy the weather and take one of the many boat rides they offer. In the cooler seasons, you can enjoy the many inodoor things the Pier has to offer, like the Imax Theater and the shops. Its a very lively place, with of course unbeatable views of the lake and the city. There's also lots of really good options here for eating too. You have to go here if you have not been here yet!

I just saw the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory here and it was amazing! If you get the chance to see a movie at the IMAX DO IT! The screen swallows you and you really feel like you are in the movie, its an experience that can't be beat! The tickets are on the expensive side and you have to make sure you buy them well in advance because there's always a ton of people trying to get into the theater, especially for a big movie.
