I love this venue, I really do, but sometimes you have to wonder if it's going to fall down on your head. Ha! My sister and I went here for Jason Mraz concert in Oct 2005, my sister for Relient K in Nov 2005 and both concerts were AWESOME. The theater staff was very nice (we had a lady in a wheelchair with us for the Mraz concert and they were VERY helpful getting her a place to watch the concert).

I've been to the Congress for a Modest Mouse concert in February of 2005. It was one of the best concerts I've ever attended. I'm sure the bands had a lot to do with this experience, but the venue also added to the overall concert. While not located in the best of neighborhoods, that fact alone adds to the atmosphere. The theater itself is quite old. The inside looks like an old ballroom theater. There are many seats, but the floor is also substantial. Great venue. If a band you like will be playing here, I'd highly recommend you go see them.

This venue is a fun venue to go see a musical act in town! It is mostly open space on the main floor with some seating sections. But, generally, they make all the tickets to the concerts, General Admission. The sound is amazing from whichever part of the venue that you are seated in. It does get extremely hot and uncomfortable though when it is overcrowded, which it usually gets. The drink prices are reasonable but still a little expensive. The theatre itself looks run-down but still in good shape. Parking though is extremely difficult. It will cost you both in the wallet and with headaches when heading out.
