The friendly staff will take care of you right away at Always Thai. They have excellent Pad Thai, Crab Rangoon, Tom Ka soup and more (you can probably tell what my regular order is). Their crab rangoon are a little different than what you would expect, lighter, but very delicious. Their ingredients are fresh, and don't skimp on the shrimp or tofu.
Pros: service

Because of some recent mixed reviews on this and other dining sites, we held off trying this Thai restaurant even though its close by in my new neigborhood. Glad we finally tried it for ourselves. We thought food was very good and service fast and attentive. We even had the Pad Kee Mao one recent reviewer trashed; and we thought it was delicious. Flavor of the dish is similar to 'drunken noodles' offered at other Thai restaurants. Also had the Pad Nam Prik Pao, and thought it was good too though we could handle a bit more spiciness (though my fault I didn't specify). Finally, we had the Tom Yum Goong soup, and it was soury spicy with plenty of mushrooms and even a generous 4 large whole shrimp (for only $4.25). BYOB. I would recommend; and I will be back.
Pros: Very Good Thai Food; BYOB; Tom Yum Goong Soup; Pad Kee Mao; Pad Nam Prik Pao
Cons: None known

When my parents were visiting, my husband and I wanted to take them to the best restaurants Chicago had to offer, and Arun's did not disappoint. Each appetizer was more tasty than the one before (and the presentation was great -- a cute carrot basket on one plate, an abstract fish on another), and the four entrees were each standouts in their own way (I loved the Massman beef and the lobster). And the two desserts were absolutely delicious! It truly was like being royalty in Thailand. I can't wait to go back!
Pros: fantastic cuisine, attentive staff
Cons: parking, not very romantic

My fiance and I moved to Chicago almost two years ago - we happened upon Azha one evening after getting off of the Belmont stop and decided to take a chance. Not a month has gone by since that we have not eaten at or ordered takeout from Azha. The crab rangoon is absolutely delicious, not greasy like some other places we have tried. The sauce that comes with it is equally wonderful - we usually fight over the last drop! For entrees, our favorite is the old standby, Chicken Pad Thai, which never fails to delight. The portions are big and the flavors are consistent.
Also worth mentioning is the owner, who also waits the tables. He is a quiet, pleasant man who always tries to make sure you are completely satisfied. Since we've become regulars, he remembers our favorite dishes and always makes us feel at home. We've taken many out of town guests there for a casual lunch or dinner - and when they return to Chicago they always ask to come here! Four of us can eat at Azha for about $30 including appetizers. We bring our own alcohol and they do not charge a corkage fee.
Azha is a delight and highly recommended!
