You cannot go wrong attending a Cubs game. It is an experience from start to finish. Amazing atmosphere, picturesque setting (if you're the sort that appreciates cityscapes), and an incredibly loyal fanbase. I lived in Chicago for 4 years and one of my most favorite things about that wonderful city is the experience Wrigley and the Cubs provide 81 days out of every year. Do yourself a favor and go if you get the chance.

The stadium rises out of the buildings that compse the south side of the city like a tropical island surrounded by blue. It is here that great baseball is played. It is here that you live and die by the greatest team to play the game and it is here that you can have the greatest family baseball experience in Chicago.
The White Sox play at U.S. Cellular field on the south side of the city. It is, without question, the best place in the city to see a game played, four out-distancing the cramped and crumbling headquarters of the National League team slowly rotting on the north side of town.
True, and be warned, you will want to take public transportation to The Cell or leave very early. Of all the years the Illinois Department of Transportation could pick to launch a massive reconstruction project of the Dan Ryan Expressway they had to pick the year after the Sox won the World Series and will defend the title.
Still, once you get there you will find plenty of parking. The parking is clean and fenced and not too far from the stadium. If you take public transportation the El stop is also nice and close.
The stadium is roomy and the seats are comfortable. There is hardly a bad seat in the house and when you are sitting in the lower level you can still see the game because of the open concourse.
The selection of food is second-to-none. Gyros, churros, hot dogs, Polish sausage, ice cream, chicken sandwiches, Dippin' Dots, etc. That is just a short list of what you can find to eat there.
The Jumbo-tron is huge and the screen clear. The sound system is fantastic which is all important so you can hear and see the opening music and video montage guaranteed to raise the hair on your arms. Clips of great moments in White Sox history flash across the screen as the music builds to a goose-bump raising pitch an intensity. Then, just as the montage ends the opening guitar straings from AC/DCs "Thunderstruck" plays as the starting lineup is introduced.
If the kids get restless there is the Fundamentals section in left field. If you pay a little extra you can have the club seats and get your own personal wait-person to deliver the food directly to your seat and order from a menu.
Then of course, you also have the game the way it is supposed to be played going on in front of you. The Sox are true pros and look to make another run deep into the post-season again this year.
You can't go wrong at U.S. Cellular and with a trip to see the White Sox play.

Go, go, Blackhawks! This legendary team plays at the United Center. If you ever get the chance to sit in the first row up against the glass it's something you will never forget. I did that one time and it was totally wild (and at times kind of scary!) But you'll have just as much fun in the "nose bleed" seats too. No matter where you sit I hope you cheer on the mighty Blackhawks during their next season of play. The crowd gets rowdy and don't I repeat don't wear hats or shirts from other teams unless you want to hear people yelling stuff at you. Has anyone seen that Seinfeld episode where Elaine wears a hat from an oppossing baseball team at a N.Y. game?

The Howard Area Community Center offers several different youth and adolescent programs for the Uptown Community. While the staff is small and sometimes disorganized, they have the best intentions and will work personally with the kids. They offer summer programs as well as several special after-school programs catering to kids from all backgrounds and age groups.

In the 80's when standing in front of video games for hours (guys and girls) at a times was cool there was a reason. The video game industry was taking off and Galaga, Pac Man and all driving and shooting type games were exciting. My favorites have always been pinball machines however. Now these games are called retro, but this place is still here. This place used to have all the newest games back then, I can't remember all the names of the games I guess I don't care that much anymore. I still enjoy pinball and always will. Dennis is still around in this "challenging neighborhood" and makes a good living with his two stores. Watch out for gang-bangers around here.
