Let me start with the best part: I ordered the filet medallions oscar and I COULD CUT IT WITH A BUTTER KNIFE! I have had meat that tender only one other time in my life. This was one of the best steaks I've ever had. Okay... now from the beginning...
We made reservations with 3 hours noticed and were seated at the time of our reservations. There wasn't much space to sit or gather but the host staff was very friendly and did offer the bar area for seating early. Our table was around the border of the dining room, which is square in shape with a raised border section over the lowered middle. We had a nice view of the bar and our table was perfect for 'people-watching'.
We each ordered flights of wine. I had the progressive and my fiance had the whites. The amount of wine in each glass was very generous - about a half a glass - and much more than the "shot" of wine that I have had in flights in the past. One of us had the barbecue chicken dish and the other had the filet medallions oscar. The medallions were SO tender and the portions were perfect. The filet was ordered rare, and a truly good rare seems to be hard to come by. Wildfire got it right. Other restaurants give you meat slightly well done and others seem to hand you something that isn't even warmed and somehow still frozen. This was a truly enjoyable cut and cooked filet.
The service was prompt. Nothing spectacular, nothing terrible. Just good, courteous service staff.
For me personally, I will go back again for one of the best steaks I've ever had.
Pros: location, price (relative), generous flights of wine, ambience, try the filet
Cons: few seats in the greeting area

I had to take some clients out to lunch and decided on going to the Western Avenue Shrimp House. It was a very good choice - the menu selection was diverse, the atmosphere conducive for business and the staff was quick.

UPDATE (10/20/07):
Based on other reviewers, my wife's 'nudging' and for old-times sake, we gave it a new second-chance following their remodeling. Glad we did. It was once again back on top of its game -- a great place for Chinese Seafood. Tried a wonderful Squid in XO Sauce -- huge plate of baby squid with lots of wonderful sauce. Also, had delicious Salt & Pepper Prawns; and, a Fish Casserole. Finally, we had one of our old favorites -- their Giant Oysters steamed in Black Bean Sauce -- yummy. Happy to say, it's now back on our Recommended List, and WE will be back soon.
ORIGINAL REVIEW - 2 Stars (1/2007): This USED to be our favorite restaurant in China Town. In fact, we were probably one of the original "caucasions" (non-Chinese) to eat at the restaurant when it first opened up many years ago. Always loved the seafood, especially the combo dinners, when it used to include whole lobster, and a shrimp & scallop dish. No longer. Unfortunately, it has gone downhill in recent times. Food no longer seems as fresh, authentic or special. Probably won't go back.
Pros: Seafood is their speciality
Cons: Baby Squid in XO Sauce. Giant Oysters steamed in Black Bean Sauce.

Service attentive - diners name given to waitstaff - service is good and prompt without being oppressive. Servers answer questions - do not upsell or oversell. Steaks (hers- special Filet; mine 14 oz Sirloin} were just outstanding and cooked to perfection. A "small" side of au gratin potatoes ($5) easily enough for two. Drawback is wines by the glass list - seriously overpriced. Hard for diners, in this day, to pay $11-12/glass (Chateau St. Michelle Merlot) for something you pay less than $20 for @ Sam's or Binny's. Avoid the cheaper wines on the wine by the Glass list (the Alderbrook Zin @ $8 is really mediocre).
Pros: Steaks perfect - food quality excellent - great service
Cons: Wines grossly overpriced
