Looking for a spot in Chicago that's low key and only known by the locals? Well Pars Cove is where it's at! It's a small romantic Persian restaurant. The dishes are very reasonably priced and sometimes I forget I'm in Chicago the prices are so great! Any seafood dish is amazing, they cook everything just right and I've never had anything over cooked. The chilian sea bass is always a favorite. They have the best hummus in the city and the best pitas, everything is made right there. You can not go to Pars Cove and not try their hummus. Also, they are known for their walnut pomegranate sauce, which looks unappealing but is simply delightful! It is great on anything, chicken, lamb, or seafood. The service here is the best in the city, the staff is very welcoming and they really know the dishes. Monday-Friday between 4-6 all the entrees are half priced! They just added sangria to their menu and it's out of this world, you must get a pitcher for your table. The atmosphere is very romantic, there is seating underneath skylights and in the back of the restaurant as well for more secluded private seating. Ladies at the end of their dining experience typically receive fresh roses brought in by the owner himself!

This place is South Chicago's best kept secret. They have some of the best fried seafood I have ever tasted. Try their JUMBO Fried Shrimp for starters. Their Catfish ,Scallops Smelts and Frog Legs are equally delicious
If your into Smoked Fish look no further, they smoke Salmon, Trout, Chubs and their specialty SMOKED SHRIMP right outside the store in an old fashion wood burning smoke house. They have been in business for over 60 years with the same family ownership. So head on over to there location where the Blues brothers jumped the 95th street bridge and get some great seafood!
Pros: One of the last original shrimp shacks
Cons: only cash taken

This is a great place to go to get some great, cheap seafood. It is not really a restaurant, but they do have lots of pre-cooked meals you can take home for a good meal. Their food is always fresh and always really delicious. I would really suggest this place for a great seafood meal. And if you are not a big fan of seafood, they have chicken and beef meals as well.

You must go to this cute place. When you do, don't miss the olive pate and feta tartlet appetizers! The bread is excellent, warm and paired with olive oil and parmesan. I had the a surprising Octopus Saute- a mound of octopus with potatoes (like a tasty seafood hash) topped with fresh parm. According to the proprietor the decor is that of an authentic seaside Croatian restaurant. Go there! Yule Love It!

It was very accomplished service. The food was beautiful and tasty. You know it is expensive, but the wine list had a little surprise. The wine was priced by the half bottle, but served (as expected) by the bottle, so we thought there had been a mistake. I guess the wine was worth the $90 per bottle price, but the surprise on recieving the bill was embarrassing.
Pros: fixed price 4 course menu with several extra tastings
Cons: confusing wine pricing

Service: Superior!!! From the moment you approach the hostess stand to the moment you prepare to exit and the manager asks you how you enjoyed your dining experience and introduces himself. Ranks as one of the best service experiences I have ever had in a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere.
Food: Unbelievable!!! Every morsel! Order odds and ends, order traditional salad and entree, do whatever you like. Oh, and if they hear chatter about sharing, the dish will arrive on split plates. We did not even ask! That is the magic of this place - as our server said 'it's a flexible menu. Just tell us what your palate desires'. On your first visit, definitely try a little bit of everything and don't miss the dessert tasting (pistachio brittle - what!!!??). Definitely notable: the skate entree; the chorizo mac and cheese side dish; cobia, crab salad & yellowfin tacos apps. YUM!
Value: CANNOT BEAT IT!
Overall: one of the best restaurants in Chicago without a doubt.
Pros: The food. The service. The Value.
Cons: None.

They have the door near the street closed off so you have to walk around the building to get in - but despite that minor inconvenience this place is great. Lots of beautiful people drink here and hang out. I like it because it's a classy place that isn't pretentious. Good place to chill out!
Pros: Lots of booze
Cons: Kind of hard to get inside
