My wife loves Superdawg because she went there a lot during her teen age years. The chicago-style (no ketchup) hot dogs are nmow around $4, but they are well-made and come with great crispy french fries. I've enjoyed the tamales and onion chips as well. It's on the way home, so I'm sure I will be carrying out from there sometime soon.

I used to always see the Mr. and Mrs. Hot Dog from afar. One day I decided to try it out with a couple of friends. It had a very cool and old day atmosphere. The waitresses bought food out to our car and it was a pretty cool idea ( an old one, but still a cool one ). The hot dogs were really great and very tasty. i think one of the best that I have had. I thought pricing was decent for good food and a nice and different experience.

Reminisent of a 50's style drive in, this kitchy stand offers you the option of having a server bring your bow wow to your car and place on the side of your door. Dogs are good and everything else is o.k. A little bit expensive for a hot dog stand and a little overrated in my opinion. It's cool to do maybe once in a while. I do enjoy the atmosphere and "Happy Days" style look of the place.

Superdawg's in Chicago is a kind of family tradition in my clan. My aunt who lives in California, whenever she comes into town, one of her first stops has to be at Superdawg. The first thing you wil notice is the large figure of a hot dog with arms, legs, head and loincloth on top of the building. Standing right next to the male, tarzan-like dog is the Jane-like dog right next to him. This, of course, IS Superdawg. The dogs are actually NOT true Chicago-style hot dogs. A true Chicago style should have relish, mustard, tomato, pickle, celery salt and a sport pepper. These, however, are so tasty you really won't know the difference. Each dog comes in its own box and covered with the delicious french fries. The shakes and malts are tiny and expensive but worth every penny. Even the dogs are about $4.00 a pop these days so make sure you have saved up enough before going. You can actually order from the car-hops who will take your order through a speaker and deliver the food on a tray that is placed on your car window just like the old days. In recent years they have created a covered dining area as well. It's a little pricey, but the experience and the food make Superdawg worth it.

The place is a landmark due to the awesome Superdawg and his girlfriend on top of the building. They bring the food right out to your car. It's a bit expensive, but it's an absolute must for anyone in Chicago.

The winking dogs on the roof really are the eye-catchers for this place. I notice this place from afar everytime I am in the area. And you have to eat at this restraunt simply for the different experience if for nothing else. You can eat your food inside your car or on the outdoor tables. But either way you do it, their food is delicious. Especially their onion rings - yum yum! You'll definitely want to come back again and again
