This Mexican restaurant serves amazing authentic food. The menu is extensive and everything that I have tried tastes wonderful. My favorite thing on the menu is the chicken soup! You have never tasted a better chicken soup in your life. There are huge chunks of chicken, onions, celery and carrots floating in this soup. It is served with a slice of lime that takes the taste over the top. There were times when I have had a cold and purposely went to Lalos just to get the soup!!! I also love the combination platters! One of my favorites is the tacos and burritos. The beans and rice are incredible. The highlight of your night will be the mariachi band! They come around to tables and serenade you with beautiful music. The band is talented too, not cheesy! The service is very professional! Even though it has been very busy, I have never had to wait too long for a table or for my food. The wait staff is very friendly and will explain the menu to you.

Lalo's is my favorite place near the city to get some great mexican food. I believe the best thing they have to offer here is their weekday lunch buffet. You will not be disappointed at all the food you will get and its all very fresh and tasty too. Plus, they have a live band and some great margaritas. Although, I would really recommend saving the margaritas until after work, because they are pretty strong. Good place though.

I love Lalo's and have gone there with some of my Mexican friends, who say it's pretty authentic. This place is a little fancier than most of the good Mexican restaurants in Chicago. They serve fancier drinks and have better dish ware and lighting. They also play louder music and make you feel like you are out to have a good time. They make great tacos, beans and rice and offer sauces that are not to hot for the weak. You may more here because you are paying for the atmosphere. YOu won't necessarily find better food here.

In a city that boasts hundreds of Mexican restaurants, you can definitely find better than this Lalo's. The food is absolutely horrendous - undercooked chicken, overcooked beef, rubbery shrimp. Pass on it all. And the margaritas? Not bad, but definitely not worth the price. Keep looking, you'll find a Mexican restaurant worth your money.

Lalo's serves great Mexican food, but the best part are the huge margaritas! They're excellent! Overall, this place is really a great deal. Everything is cheap and delicious. The Mexican décor is fun and festive. It's hard for me not to fill up on their tasty chips and salsa before the entrees arrive.
