This is one of the best places in Chicago to go for thai food. The food at this location is amazing and the pad thai is unbeatably good. They have just the right flavors and just the right amount of peanuts in their pad thai. They also have a great assortment of bubble teas that come in so many different flavors. What is even more incredible is that they are really reasonably priced so you can go here often and enjoy their delicious food. This place is in the heart of Chinatown and not hard at all to find.

I used to love Joy Yee's Noodle Shop (I have gone to both the one in Chinatown on the South Side and the one in Evanston on the North Side); I always wanted to go there when I was with friends and we were looking for cheap but satisfying eats. I had been telling my sister about the place when she came to town. Well, I took her to the Joy Yee's in Evanston and while we are waiting for our meal to be delivered to the table, we notice huge cockroaches crawling all over the unoccupied table next to us. I was so disappointed. I always thought of the place as nice and clean (it has Scandinavian wood tables with modern decorations, an open kitchen). When I mentioned the bugs to our waiter, he just looked at the table, brushed one of the bugs to the floor (still alive) and walked away. Well, such is my appetite for Joy Yee's. I think the waiter's reaction was more disturbing than the bugs! Since that incident, I have not gone back. I am not naive about restaurants and bugs, but I think anyplace that has such a laissez faire attitude about them is no place I want to spend my dining dollars when there are so many other great restaurants out there.

I've enjoyed all of the dishes I've tried at Joy Yee's. The bubble teas are especially tasty--they have such a wide variety that I try a new one every time. This restaurant is in Chinatown so parking isn't too bad. I would suggest going for a late lunch or early dinner, since lines to get a table around dinner time can be long.

Over my five day trip to Chicago I went to Joy Yee’s a total of THREE times. That’s right, three days out of five, I went to Joy Yee’s – that’s how good it is. Also, I hail from the Bay Area, home of bubble tea galore, but we don’t have anything like this back home. The drinks are much larger that standard and the flavors and variety of drinks is awesome. They also serve up some good food for affordable prices – only sticking point is that the service is only so-so.

Joy Yee is a very popular chinese restaurant in Chicago. they have two locations one in chinatown and the other up in Evanston around Northwestern Campus. They are known for their huge portions and fruit and bubble tea. Expect long lines as it is a hot place to visit for all the high school and college aged students. The food is delicious.

This is the place for Bubble Tea in Chinatown. Though there is a special counter just for ordering Bubble Tea, there is usually a line stretching outside. The ingredients are fresh and they prepare the drink right in front of you. The restaurant is a crowded and the food is definitely overshadowed by the drinks. There’s not much on the menu for vegetarians, but that is a problem at most restaurants in China-town. Skip the other shops selling bubble tea, and wait for Joy Yee – definitely worth it.

I can’t say enough good things about Joy Yee’s Noodles in Chinatown. This place has the best mango bubble tea!!!! Some friends and I decided to try the Taste of Chicago food festival, but we ended up coming here three times. Our rice dishes were savory, though we kept eyeing the soup noodles at the table next to us. The prices are affordable and the portions large. Plus, the menu comes with pictures so you know what to look forward to.

There are too many customers. Recommend this restaurant. The environment is so so just like other Chinese restaurants.
