I had a great breakfast - I disagree with EMS's review. It was a beautiful sunny Chicago early summer day (June). We sat outside. The service was fine - the food came quickly and was delicious. I had a white spinach omlette with cheese grits - the cheese grits were exactly as I expected. My breakfast meeting was nice - we were comfortable and isolated enough not to be distracted by others, but we didn't feel alone. All in all, a very fun place.

I went to this west loop restaurant for breakfast several time. Nothing is special in this place, i don't know why it was always busy. They used to have a good bread, but not anymore, their food has decreased in quality in my opinion. The only decent think i ate there was the crab cake.

The menu here is a mix of southern/Cajun style food. Lots of great side dishes – in fact I recommend stringing a few of them together to make a meal. Their brunch is definitely the highlight, though the crowd during the weekend can put one off. There’s not much of a wait, but the staff is a little strained and it can get pretty loud. I recommend the Corn Cakes for brunch, a spicy corn bread pancake. The artwork on the walls is hilarious.

Wishbone on Washington is located very close to Harpo Studios in the far West Loop area. For brunch, the grits, biscuits and gravy, and other southern favorites are very popular and waiting is common. For lunch and dinner (every day except Monday), try the grilled chicken with mango salsa or catfish. Wishbone offers lots of different choices for sides, but the macaroni and cheese and mashed sweet potatoes are always a favorite.
