Tango Sur is a popular BYOB Argentine steakhouse on Southport. I ate the bife vesuvio, a rich slab of meat with tasty garnishes. They have a substantial mixed gill combo that is best shared by at least two persons. The waits can be long here, so come early before the very busy waiters become even busier.

This is a wonderful South American restaurant. It is an outdoor experience (seating is outdoors) that is good for only the warm weather. Also, it is only open for dinner. They serve some great food here. The portions are really big and the food is delicious, fresh, and filling. It is a BYOB place so bring with you whatever it is that you enjoy to drink with your meal!

If you love the red meat then you will love Tango Sur. Although I've never been to Argentina, I imagine this place is as close to being an authentic Argentinian steak place as there is outside of Buenos Aires. The food is really flavorful, the portions are plentiful, and the ambiance is friendly and festive. It's a great place to take guests from out of town or meet friends for dinner.
It's BYOB, very popular, and they don't take reservations so plan accordingly.

I love the steaks at Tango Sur. The steaks are Argentianian beef and really have great flavor. The empanadas are excellent and are great for an inexpensive meal. The restaurant is typically crowded, so expect a long wait during peak dinner hours. The tables are close together but lends to a cozy atmosphere rather than being intrusive. Parking in the area can be difficult so patience is key.

Tango Sur is a great little restaurant on Southport, just south of Grace. It's always packed with large groups, so it's a good idea to get there early! We actually tried to eat there several times before we finally got a table!
The menu is mostly meat, but it has a great variety of Argentinian beef dishes. The portions are large, so you can take some home for another meal! We definitely didn't leave hungry!
It's a great restaurant for a birthday or other celebration and they do their best to accommodate larger groups. Give it a try, you'll be glad you did!

This great restaurant just down from the Music Box theatre has outdoor seating in the summer and theaters for the cool fall evenings. Without a liquor license, you can bring your own wine for a small corkage fee. The food is great Argentinian fare: the calzones (pastry puffs) can be spinach or meat filled and come with an great, garlic/oil/parsley dipping sauce! I love the fried steak and eggs. The salmon is also great lighter fare. The best dessert: the peach cake! Tight seating, loud on a Saturday night, when you will wait up to an 1 hr.
