Great food, but too bad there are no coupons for customers who visit the place on a regular basis.

...she makes us take her there every time she visits Chicago, but we do not complain, because it is just wonderful! The service is always impeccable, and even when terribly crowded, they are great about getting you in and out in a short period of time. The margaritas are average, but the food is great. Definitely worth the trip.

We showed up at our hotel (Hard Rock Hotel Chicago) at 2pm and were starving (our flight left Denver at 9am, I had skipped breakfast, and didn't eat any of the crappy airplane food.) Both Amy and I had a hankering for Mexican, so we asked the concierge for a recommendation. His first was closed already so he suggested Uncle Julio's. We ended up being very glad his first choice was closed.
Uncle Julio's is a 10 minute cab ride from the core of downtown Chicago. It stands out - you can't miss it - as your cab winds it's way down North Ave. The restaurant is big , airy, and full of the smell of quality mexican food.
Everything was great. We both had fajitas - Amy had chicken, I had veggy. The guacamole was great, the homemade tortillas were delicious, and when we finished gorging ourselves on chips and salsa, we were very happy with ourselves.
