Bistro Campagne is a wonderful french restaurant in quaint Lincoln Square. We've been there several times alone and with friends. It's always been superb. The service is friendly and attentive and the food is simply and impeccably prepared. Solid wine list as well. Catch a class at the Old Town School of Folk Music and then cruise down to Bistro Campagne. You will not be disappointed...
Oh yeah, if you're there when the weather's good ask to sit outside under canopy. Tres romantique...

Love the chicken dish but not very excited about the price. Overall the food was very good and the wine list rocked.
Pros: intimate, friendly staff

I went to dinner on a Wednesday night, no occasion to celebrate and the evening turned into one of the most memorable dinners I've had in recent years. The food was tremendous, basic bistro fare:goat cheese salad is the best. The wine recommendation was the perfect addition to our meal. The desert was perfect. The server was spectacular. We sat in the couryard area which is perfect in the summer. Perfection!
Pros: all of the staff, atmosphere, outstanding food

I'm afraid to write this review, that the place will be taken over. I had brunch there recently and it was amazing, even better than another favorite, Tre Kronor. Everyone at the table agreed the food quality was outstanding (the best quiche, and best bacon I have ever had, bar none). The tables are a bit close, but the multiple small rooms feel cozy. Service was ok, not outstanding, not bad. No wait at prime time on a Sunday, which was a bonus. A little more than you'd pay somewhere else, but worth it.

1/3 of my pork chop was served raw, while the rest cooked. They need to take the table away from the door because it was freezing. The wait was not 1 hour, but 20 minutes or less. Service was infrequent and poor. The restaurant manager was arrogant, probably because of the nice crowd and great reviews.

Completely perfect - this is the most exquisite brunch you will find in Chicago. The atmosphere is topped only by the food. Wait for a warm Sunday afternoon and sit on the terrace.

I had one of the most delicious pieces of chicken here and was slightly disappointed by the small cheese selection (they call it cheese selection and then you can hardly find the cheese amongst the tons of fruit, crackers, nuts and other paraphernalia). The dining room has suffered from the addition of the bar, although the selection of wines there is original. The garden remains great and is a definite selling point.
