The ribs were very tender and flavorful in this large, yet homey neighborhood restaurant. The decor was more traditional than trendy, but we did feel very comfortable. It was not well ventilated. My wife said that she smelled smoke (tobacco). I didn't, but I did find it stuffy. So eating in again is not an option Still, the food was very very good and I think we could carry out from there in the future, instead of eating in. They had a great live jazz trio, too.

This slightly upscale restaurant is extremely popular and is famous in Jefferson Park. I do enjoy eating here for a special occassion. I think some folks get carried away a bit with this place. The service is very good I must say. There are plenty of good rib houses in town however. The last time we went there was no entertainment. It is located directly across the street from the Jeff. Park CTA depot. I'll have to check out their brunches sometime, thanks Bill for that tip.

This place has become our groups celebration place. It has the BEST ribs in the city. They are amazingly tender and the sauce is perfect. They also have excellent side dishes and appetizers and desserts. The place is smallish and quiet and perfect for a get together. They have a magician walking around too. I'm not sure what that is about, but he's pretty good. Not as good as the food though. Check this place out!

The Gale Street Inn is a pleasant neighborhood place near the Jefferson Park CTA terminal. The place is packed at dinnertime thanks to entrees like a slab of ribs. I recently went to their Sunday brunch, which was more of a lunch with hearty items like gumbo, chicken, fresh waffles, and a great dessert table including bananas Foster.
