This diner does a great job of making you feel like your back in the 1950s. The decor, casual atmosphere, and service all give you the 50s diner sort of a feel. The waiters and watiresses here are a bit aloof, basically they hand you a menu, you order, they give you your food and you do not see much more of them. But their menu is extensive and offers a variety of good (and cheap) eats. My favorite meal here is the breakfast burritos - they are so tasty and filling. My experience at this casual restaurant has always been favorable.

Clarke's is a great and reliable diner in Lincoln Park. There is plenty of seating, and you'll see most of it taken on weekend mornings. Fare ranges from standard burgers and fries to some really delicious (and enormous) omlettes. I suggest anything on the menu, really. Atmosphere is really casual and reminiscent of the 1950s. A great diner!

With exceptional food at moderate prices, there are deals to be had for any menu item you could want. The $2.99 Uno, which includes eggs, fries and pancakes (if you ask!) is wonderful, and they usually include a bit more if you ask for the eggs scrambled. Additionally, the beer is cheap, at $2 Domestic and $3 Import. Not that the selection is huge, but this is a great 24-hour joint, far better than its Belmont location.

Clarke's is your all-American city diner, with huge breakfasts and great fries. The theme tries to be 1950s, but we heard 1980s rock during our visit. Service is typical of a diner, but I'm guessing they're extremely patient with the devoted college crowd. I'd suggest the Southwest/Mexican omlette, although the sandwiches looked really good, too. Watch out for Sunday morning crowds, though. Even with their large seating capacity, you still might have to wait a few minutes.
