Volo is my favorite wine bar in Chicago. I first visited Volo for a wine tasting. I would highly recommend attending their wine tastings as it provides for a great time and is a great deal. For $15 you get to try several wines and munch on tasty appetizers. In the spring, summer, and fall, you can sit in an outdoor cabana and enjoy wine with that special someone or a group of friends.
Pros: Food and wine
Cons: Small location

They've got a really extensive wine list with a great selection! Their food is really good but their portions are extremely small, which I guess is reflected in the price of their meals and the fanciness of their descriptions. Our waiter was a little snobby and our table was way too close to the couples on either side of us. I think the next time I go here it would be just to have wine and a maybe a snack, it's definitely not a place to go if you're starving!

This place is PACKED on Fridays and Saturdays, but for a very good reason. It was s bit loud, but the space was very trendy, the service excellent and the detail from the presentation of the food to the stemware they serve their amazing selection of wine in was found by my fellow diners to be very exciting. I highly recommend it and the price to service/quality ratio is excellent too.
I dig this place, but try to avoid it on the weekend because it can be a bit stressful, even though they do an excellent job directing traffic, per se.
Pros: excellent food, atmosphere, wine!
Cons: loud and sometimes very crowded on weekends.

VOLO is that special place where the food is exceptional and always complimented beautifully with the server's wine recommendation. When you sit in the backyard patio your worries in life will soon disappear and you'll feel as though you have been transported to another place in time when things in life where much simpler. Don't forget to save room for dessert, because your evening will not be complete without trying one, two, or maybe even three to complete your food extravaganza! Even after dessert you won't leave feeling too full, but instead you'll leave with the most amazing feeling of satisfaction! Because the food is tapa/small plate style is fun to try several different things and share, which makes this a very romantic restaurant, but also a great place to go with friends!
Pros: food, wine, outdoor patio
Cons: NONE

This is a restaurant that is very easy to miss and does not really stand out in the crowd. Maybe that's because it is kind of tucked away and a bit outside of the hustle bustle of the city. But this restaurant is really great. They have an awesome menu of really great home cooked, but fancy meals and also a great menu with a good wine selection. During the better weather, they have outdoor seating on their little patio. Its a nice cutsie sort of place for a date or dinner.

We just love this restaurant. Fantastic wines and delicious up-scale, though unpretentious food. The small, tapas-style plates make it easy to mix and match. The staff is very knowledgeable and attentive, and always seem to make just the right recommendations. Love all the tasty cheeses too! We will keep coming back.
Pros: Food, Wines, Service
Cons: Parking

Chef Stephen Dunne's food flawlessly compliments Volo's surrondings. The spot is a fun addition to Roscoe Village.
