I have never had anything bad to eat, and they have a good selection of beers. I have to admit I prefer this place in the summer when you can sit outside, but other than that, this place is fab!

I went here for an all-ages show, relegating me to the back room separate from the door. At the rear was a good-sized stage for the room. Right of the front of the stage was a huge leak in the roof under which several buckets were placed -- built-in crowd control?
Though deep, dark, dank, and damp, the Beat Kitchen made for a good venue with good acoustics. Around closing, the staff got REALLY pushy and rude with the all-ages crowd.
Come if your favorite band is playing here (and they do book some GREAT acts), but don't make it your regular place.

This club has a kitchen with decent food, but that's not what this joint is about. It's about live music. Local and national bands come thru here. Most of them have a sort of underground following, so it can get packed in here. Some are local bands with not much following, it depends on the night you show up. I tip my hat to them for support all these bands, many of which are considered indie. or alternative.

In general, the bands are pretty good, not matter the genre. I saw Lucero here a few years ago and was blown away. Once in a while, a dud shows up on stage, but it's been rare in my opinion (however, I'm not there every night).
The food is better than standard bar fare and decently priced. The beer list is not bad and, of course, includes PBR.
A draw for me: cushy booths with high backs.

I must say that the bar tenders here are so cool, very funny and welcoming. They serve great sandwiches, I especially like their blackened chicken. Go on a regular night for a pretty quick meal. Or go on the weekend when they've got live music. The music venue is pretty intimate and can get crowded. But there's plenty of room to dance, let go and have a great time. Their prices are pretty good too.

With the closing of a few great places to see live music, the Beat Kitchen has picked up the slack and is now one of the best places to see live music! The back room where they have concerts is small and intimate, but not too small. Their drink prices are a bit high, but the location is great. You can usually always find a parking spot on the street in the neighborhood! Check out their calendar and see a great show!

If you dream of starting a band, this is the kind of place where you might get your first booking. I have heard some great music here, and some pretty awful stuff too.
Of course that is part of the fun, the unexpected.
It has been a while since I have been in here; maybe I am getting old?

I went here once and this place is a great divish bar. We went to see Pat McCurdy play on a Monday night and while it wasn't very busy on that Monday night it was a great place.

Although the drinks were standard, as was the service, this club still had it going on! The atmosphere was buzzing yet not overcrowded, the bands were cool (Planet Delirium and I Decline rocked the house!), and everyone was there for a great time. Nice! I hear the food is good too...
Pros: Decent street parking, Unique venues, Pretty cheap
