This place is nothing like the old Gino's East that shut down. They made an attempt to recreate something that was a real piece of history and failed miserably. The pizza is nothing like to old, and the atmosphere seems fake. This is the place to go if you didn't go to the old one. Bring some crayons to scribble on the walls.

Apparently they moved most of the ovens, seating and décor from the old Gino’s East to their new location on Wells and Chicago Avenue. Unfortunately, the newer location just doesn’t seem to have the same vibe. When they first opened they were asking patrons to sign the walls, even handing out black markers just to try and regain that old feeling. The Chicago Avenue location, which used to be Planet Hollywood, is really too big to feel like an old Chicago –Style pizza joint. Although, I will say that it has its own flair and it’s a pretty good place to go and eat. I find that their original pizza is a little too cheesy for me, but the crust and sauce is mmmmmmmmm good!! You will usually have to wait in a long line on sunny weekend days, because this is a huge tourist attraction. Try it on a week night.
