This pub captures the authenticity of a pub in Ireland as close as they can for being in the Windy City. Grab a pint of Harps beer or Guiness here and if you don't mind a ton of smoke around you you will have a good time. The clubs and pubs in town are trying hard do get rid of smoke with filtration systems and air purifiers these days but there is still smoke in the air; it's an Irish Pub. Irish music is featured and the decor is very cool. Cheers!

Personally, I have never been here, but I used to work with a couple women from Ireland, so they are the experts. They used to rave on about the food, beer and decor. They found Fado to be a warm, down to earth pub, just like places they loved back in their native country. What I love is that they also feature great music, in particular, Vertigo USA (they were once called Elevation, but had to change their name because there is another band by that name). Anyway, they are a wonderful local U2 cover band, and I know they sometimes play here. If you have not been to one of their shows, GO. It's the next best thing to seeing U2...without the high prices!

I haven't been to Ireland (yet) but I feel like I have after stepping into Fado. The interior really feels like an Irish Pub, and the food seems pretty authentic - and tasty. They get their Guinness straight from Ireland so you can count on it tasting how it's really supposed to taste. Plus they have several other Irish beers that are worth sampling. I love the variety of Irish music they play too - from traditional folk music to Flogging Molly, so it really creates the impression that you're in the next best place to Ireland.
The service can be a little slow when it gets busy (like after the South Side Irish Parade) but it's worth it.

This is a great Irish Pub-the wood makes it feel really authentic. There aren't many tables (and its very popular), so it can be quite difficult to find a seat. If you do, the food here is excellent too. Sometimes you can watch a soccer game too.
