This place is definitely geared towards tourists and that is why I always bring my friends from out of town over to this place. Even though it has a very tourist type atmosphere, the restaurant is a lot of fun to be at. The crowd is fun and the service is great. I think their food here is actually pretty good and I prefer their giant burgers over anything else here. In actuality, my out of town friends are just an excuse to make it over here. It is just such a fun and upbeat place with good food and great service. I can't avoid it even if it is a tourist trap.

Sometimes I think people get caught up in the history of this restaurant. Especially Cubs fans. But the reality for me and those I know is that the restaurant is good, but far from great. It's over priced on many items. The shrimp cocktail in partiicular is a huge disappointment (what you get/the quality versus what you pay). I have had much better food. But I do enjoy the sports photos that grace the walls, and the staff is very good.

I had no idea what to expect when my in-laws took us to this sports bar. I don't drink and I'm not a big sports fan, but what can you do? I was outnumbered, HA! It worked out, though - the restaurant is not some dumpy, smoke filled bar at all. I was pleasantly surprised with the service, menus, and especially the food! I had a burger that was out of this world. I'm actually excited to go back sometime!

When I was told I was going to a sports bar, my hopes sunk. I'm not a sports fan in the slightest, and I had never heard of Harry Caray. However, it only took a few minutes in the place to understand why guidebooks refer to HC as an upscale sports bar. In addition to standard pub far, their gourmet selections is what stood out to me. The handcut potato chips are fantastic, and the appetizer selection is impressive. I can't wait to go back!

Their burger is juicy and loaded with great toppings. The homemade steak fries make a great addition and are always hot and fresh. I love eating here not only for the food, but the great, lively atmosphere. This is a place to definitely check out whether you are a local or a tourist.

A few of us dropped in during the late afternoon for a quick drink and were absolutely floored with the gourmet antipasto platter and homemade chips. They've got your basic bar fare, but do yourself a favor and try something a little more exotic. This place is a tourist-magnet, so be prepared for a little wait if you come for dinner. Overall, the atmosphere is quite upscale, complete with bathroom attendants. It's a guaranteed good time even if you're not a huge baseball fan.

Back in my cabbie days I picked up Harry and his wife several times from this place and brought them home to their gold coast digs. They were always pleasant, good tippers, etc. If you have been living in a cave, the late Harry was an announcer for the Cubs who was also a celebrated Chicago personality. He was once dubbed the mayor of Rush St. back in the heyday of that street. My boyfriend is an avid baseball fan, so he HAD to visit Harry Caray's while we were in Chicago. We decided to stop for lunch as we assumed the crowd would be smaller. We were immediately seated, and the staff was incredibly friendly. We both had a burger with fries. The burgers were fantastic, and the steak fries were delicious. The price was reasonable, $10 for the burger, and the service was fairly quick. I think we managed to complete our meal in a little under an hour. The memorabilia is interesting, and my boyfriend spent a good 30 minutes wandering around looking at the stuff on the walls.

Definitely great food! My husband drools at the mention of their steak. Not a cheap meal, though, expect to dish out $40 easy for two. The atmosphere is nice, lots of memorobilia on the walls. The location is easily accessible for suburbinites who take the train in, too. Well, if you don't mind a good walk!
