I have been going to The Goose for many years and it never gets old. The jumbo shrimp beats the pants off every other shrimp house that I have tasted so far. The breading is very good and the quality of the shrimp is top notch. Everyone complains about the location and that it's a hole in the wall but that doesn't matter to me. I have never had a problem and I will continue to go there as long as I am alive or as long as they are open. The shrimp sauce is excellent as well; I take turns between the red and the orange. To tell you the truth I haven't tried anything else except the shrimp but they are the best around.

I discovered this little place shortly after I moved to Chicago. We were leaving downtown after clubbing all night and had a taste for some good food. Someone recommended that we go to Goose Island Shrimp House. I have to admit that I was skeptical since the place looks like a hole in the wall and is not in the greatest neighborhood. Let me tell you how good the food is though. The shrimp are HUGE and are deep fried fresh to order. My favorite thing to get from there is the jumbo shrimp and fried mushrooms. A bit of advise... call ahead and order and then go and pick it up. It will reduce your wait time. There is NO place to eat in, so plan on eating in your car or taking it back home.
