Heaven On Seven has the best Cajun food that I have found in Chicago. This is a great place to go on a date and perhaps see a movie afterward, since there is a theater above it. The meals are priced as expected downtown, and the service is top notch. I have gone here with large groups and it is a blast. Try the gumbo.

Great Cajun food that holds mass appeal--everyone you know will find something on this extensive menu! There are typical N'awlins dishes, as well as Cajun and southern-inspired. The Bloody Mary's are divinely spicy--I can't find them spicier any where else (with the possible exception of Wishbone). THe service is pretty good and the restaurant is clean--although there may be confetti and other Mardi Gras paraphernalia lying about.
Two things to remember: 1) Save room for dessert and 2) Get the gumbo!

Love spicy food? Well then don't miss out on this place. Just the decor here screams spicy, with bottles of hot sauces from all over the world lined around the restaurant. The food is amazing adn I always order the menu items that are the spiciest. They serve cajun food here and it is GOOD. The service here is great too and it is really a very enjoyable place, with a very casual and fun atmosphere. This is very much the place to be if you love spice and have a sweet spot for cajun cuisine!

Cajun food isn't for everyone, but you should try it anyways. I am a chicken fried steak kind of guy and have been working on it ever time I go here to try something else, but I rarely have the nerve. I have never eaten anything bad here before. If you like hot food then they have some of the hottest food in town. They even have a club that you can get in if you can finish their hottest dish. You might want to call about the details on that. Enjoy.

You will feel like you’ve died and gone to heaven, as my grandma used to say, (no pun intended here). You absolutely must try the gumbo - it’s fabulous!! Their dishes and their décor are inspired by New Orleans, but they definitely have a unique Chicago flair. Every dish comes beautifully displayed, but you’ll probably be digging in so quickly that you may forget to notice. Try a combo platter on your first visit so that you can get a sample of a few of their specialties. And, ask for a doggy bag before your plate is half-empty, that way you can save room for a delectable dessert. Key lime pie, pecan pie or New Orleans style chicory coffee are good choices. This place is in my top 5 Chicago faves because their food ambiance and customer service are all top notch!
