If you have over $150 to spend once a year on dinner for two, try Morton's. I had fish, my spouse had the porterhouse; both were tasty. The atmosphere was classy, but the tables were very close together. Plan on being a part of your neighbor's conversation because you're almost sitting at the same table. The service was fair - expect the waiter look down his nose at you, especially if you ask for (ouch) steak sauce or if you have special needs like no butter. They don't like to work too hard for their tip, they just expect it because they know they're getting one regardless. But overall the dining experience was quite nice. Food was good, wine was great, chocolate cake was to die for. I recommend going to Morton's in CLEVELAND, OH for a truly wonderful dining experience. Their bartenders especially were absolutely charming... make a reservation!
Pros: ambiance, tasty food
Cons: costly, close quarters, attitude

Went there on Sunday night and ordered the prime rib. Unfortunately it came out luke warm, and when I complained to the waitress, she didn't look too happy. For the amount I was paying I'd expect better service. Also, despite requesting the steak as medium, it was overcooked. Their onion bread and keylime pie were good though.

The filet mignon and the chocolate souffle are divine; unfortunately, the service leaves much to be desired. Starting with the incompetent valet and continuing through to the waiter who slammed a bread plate down on a fork, causing it to do a backflip through the air, service here was just ridiculously godawful. I asked for my leftover half filet to be boxed, and the waiter took my plate and piled everyone else's silverware on top of it beside my filet before taking it over to box it. It was just gross. I feel like it might be a bit nitpicky to be annoyed that he didn't clear the wine glasses, but at a hundred bucks/person, he really should. I'll never patronize this location again.
Pros: steaks, desserts, cocktails
Cons: , service, service

This is one of those places I really wanted to like. But I did not really enjoy my steak, or my wife's steak, the main reason to go to a steakhouse! The sides were very good , and the oysters were good, too. And that loaf of onion bread was delicious! Service was above average. Maybe we should have just ordered plain steak instead of a la Oscar or au poivre. There did not seem to be a non-smoking section, but the room didn't seem smokey to us. Maybe I'd try them again, but I'll try some other steak places first.

I went to Morton's with a party of 8 and overall the experience was very pleasant. We were seated promptly (make reservations) and the waitress was great. Since I couldn't order the meat, I had a bunch of the sides. They were all great and I was satisfied. From the feedback from my party, the steak was all cooked to their specifications to the smallest detail - and everyone loved it. The wine selection is great and the ambience is perfect for steak. Dark yet classic. Expect an expensive tab, but I think it is worth it. Everyone truly enjoyed it. The most notable con is the noise level. A bit hard to converse, but manageable.
Pros: Food, Ambience
Cons: Noisy, Pricey

I went to Morton's for the 1st time recently and was very impressed. I had the porterhouse steak and it was awesome and cooked to order. the side dishes were good also. esp the mashed potatoes and mushrooms.
the service was impeccable. and overall I was a very satisfied customer. You always wonder about the corporate chains and whether or not they can live up to the hype/standards that are set at their other locations. Morton's did. and as a result I will dine there again."
Pros: porterhouse steak, service, large portions

The famous Morton's of Chicago....Sure. Let me give you the highlights of my experience, there bread and dessert. The onion bread loaf is deliciuos and so is there Godiva cake. However, I didn't go to Morton's for cake, I went for great steak. I had a Filet Mignon and my friend had the Porterhouse. Both of us found the steaks average with little flavor. The lyonnaise potato I ordered were lousy as well. The service was no extremely horrible, but I found the waiter to be a little snobish. I won't go again.
Pros: dessert
Cons: service, food not great, like a menemosa

Reminds me of an established dining experience from the early 1900s, typical large room filled with boisterous upper class patrons satisfying them selves on well prepared fine cuisine and substantial wines, while smoking the most expensive cigars available. I had the Spinach salad and the Farm Raised Salmon both of which were excellent, but nothing special when compare to other fine establishments. The service is decent depending on the size of your group as the servers know who will tip appropriately and cater to those they think will. My date and I were well satisfied with the meal overall. Mortons is a poor choice if large rooms filled with excessive conversation, smoke and affluent are ubiquitously, which makes it great for the affluent wanting to hobnob or yuppies wanting to dine like their folks and impress their friends. So, plan to spend some money while you hobnob with the elite.
Pros: Excellent Choices, Period Atmosphere, Sophisticated
Cons: Mediocre service, Excessive Pricing, Crowded
