  The beefs, hot dogs and burgers are the best. The salads are also good while dining in. I did get chopped salads for a party from there catering menu and found them to be dry.
  Very disappointing and expensive. Also if you don't eat the burgers there, they get too steamy in the cartons.

  Hands down the Chopped Sals is one of my favorites in Chicago!
  I am not much of a meat eater, so I cannot comment on their beef or hot dogs, but I get that salad whenever I can!!

  This place is a meat lovers Disneyland. Hot dogs, huge --I mean huge-- beef sandwiches, hamburgers, you name it. It's so so good. You have to try it. The convenient thing is that there is a drive thru so you don't need to exert any energy or burn any calories walking into the restaurant to get your beef on.

• It's All About the Beef Sandwiches

  If you look at the reviews of Portillo's, everyone from Chicago is always talking about the hotdogs, but for my friends and me, it is the beef sandwiches. This place is a little awkwardly located when strolling...not really close enough to the Loop, not really in River North, but that's ok. If it were any easier, you'd never be able to get in the door. It's that popular. This is fast food at its finest. The decor is much like you'll find at any family restaurant, and they have a huge Italian menu that will be wasted on me. When I get in the mood for one of those Italian beef sandwiches that taste like the meat has been au jus-ing all day, this is the place to go. You won't want to share that tasty sandwich, but they are huge, and if you plan to eat anything else, take my advice. Oh, and the hotdogs are pretty good, I guess.

• Good Fish Sandwich

  This is a nice fast food restaurant. I love the sandwiches. The fish sandich here is real good. It is really big and filling. The fries that come with it are pretty good too. My total came around to 8 bucks for a whole meal. It is a bit more expensive than other fast food restaurants. But the place is just so much nicer. And Portillos also has a lot of differnt types of meals and foods. I think the Pasta here is okay. I had their mostacholli once and did not it very much.

• Chicago's Staple

  Portillo's is a staple in Chicago. Just go over and see the crowds that form in the restaurant during meal time and the long lines at the drive thru.
  This is the ultimate fast food place. The food is excellent and so good that you will crave more and more. Their menu is really extensive and ranges from great burgers to these fresh home made pastas.
  You will love the food here and the casual atmosphere. This place is one place that truely defines Chicago.

• Sandwiches

  Awesome place to go for lunch. They have such a variety that you can seriously eat her everyday and not get sick of it. I mainly love the sandwiches. They are really good. The fries are okay. I like the place as well. It gets kind of crowded and noisy around lunch and dinner time..but its a fun place to go to. I would recommend going here for lunch.

• And the Salads...

  Yes, I know. Portillos equals hot dogs. But the chicken chopped salad is amazing!
  
  Portillos has fast and efficient service, and the restaurant, while loud, is clean and has a lot of seating.
  
  At some locations (perhaps all?) the 2 line service for hot dogs vs. the salads/pasta is so discouraging. I often enjoy a hot dog with the works and a side salad, but I don't like waiting in 2 lines and paying twice.

• Great Menu

  I don't think I have ever met a person who didn't like this nice little fast food place. I think its mainly because of the really good variety of great foods here. You really can't beat their menu of burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, salads, pastas, and the list goes on and on. You know what the really amazing thing is? Everything on the menu is really GOOD. You get huge portions and everything tastes great and you get it quick and for a good price too!
