The sushi is fresh though not terribly different from what you might find elsewhere in the city, the staff is friendly and helpful, and they make fabulous drinks. This place may be more of a treat for its atmosphere, and secondly for its food, but I would return regardless.

Sushi Samba Rio has average sushi at above average prices. I think you're paying for the "trendy" atmosphere. The decor is pretty cool, but the tables are way too close together on the upper level. There are better places for sushi in Chicago. But, if you visit New York, the original Sushi Samba is really good!

I went to Sushi Samba Rio with a group of 15 people. The atmosphere of the bar and restaurant was fun. We had a reservation for our group, but we still ended up waiting for almost a half hour to be seated (even though we were all there).
The sushi was good, but some pieces were pretty expensive. They also have some interesting dishes for those that don't like sushi. Overall, it was a good experience, but I don't have anything to rave about.
