This is another book store on Devon Avenue that deals with only Islamic books and stuff about Muslims. This is a good place to go if you want to learn more about Muslims and the religion they follow. The store is good and the person that works here is really nice and will tell you what is the best thing for you. They also have gift items here and also Islamic clothing. This store is very much like the Iqra bookstore and it is as good for good information.

I've been a part of Moody Church for almost six years. I love this place. It is big, but there's a lot of small areas to get plugged into (I work with the youth group). The location is great, and there is parking available. Saturday nights with the youth group include air hockey, pool and table tennis! :)

I went here because I needed to do some research for a school project. I was very impressed with the items this store had. They had many books in the store related to buddhism and they covered a range of different topics. Also, the store had many decorative items and also items that could be given as gifts or references for people. I even interviewed the person working at the counted. He was also very friendly and helped explain many of the item in the store to me. I would recommend this store because there is much to learn here and there are many interesting items to see at this store. Maybe you will even end up buying something!

I used to be a member of this organization for five years. Back in the late 80's, early 90's, things were very painful for me and I was confused. I went on my own personal journey and chose to become a Buddhist, so I joined the SGI. Growing up a Catholic, it was a different world for me, but it was a wonderful world for a while.
I eventually returned to my Christian faith (for over 12 years now), but I have to tell you that this place was good for me at this period in my life. They are very caring, supportive and gentle souls. They practice the Buddhist sect called Nichiren Shoshu (chanting Nam Myoho Renge Kyo) for spiritual enlightenment and wisdom.
You meet a lot of great people and all share a common bond. I was grateful for what I learned and the people I met. It's ironic that becoming a Buddhist made me a better Christian and a much stronger person. Regardless of what you believe, or what you think of this type of faith, for those that are seeking, I feel we all should make our own choices and find our spiritual bliss. I am grateful to God that He allowed me to work things through, because after all, all roads that I took lead me back to Jesus, which is where I personally belong.

More
Old St. Patrick's is one of the most famous churches in Chicago, and one of the oldest. When it was founded in 1846, Old St. Pat's was the first English speaking parish in Chicago. In fact, Old St. Pat's even survived the Chicago Fire, which, as the church proudly notes in its bulletin and regularly in mass, makes Old St. Pat's the oldest public building in Chicago. In addition to being historic, Old St. Pat's is a very welcoming parish that encourages outreach to new members and offers special masses and programs to encourage young people to attend.

More
First United Methodist Church, or Chicago Temple as its known, is located in the heart of downtown Chicago across Washington Street from the Daley Center. In addition to the usual 8:30 and 11 a.m. services and a more contemporary 5:00 Saturday night service, Chicago Temple offers a lunch hour service every Wednesday at 12:10. Even with communion following the service, the service goes from 12:10 to about 12:45. Communion is also offered Thursday mornings.
For those interested, there are daily free tours of the "Chapel in the Sky"--the chapel located in the top of the church building, which houses many floors of offices between the sanctuary and the chapel.
