Not only is this the only store of it's kind in Jeff. Park, it may be the only store of it's kind like this in all of Chicago. It started with the owner/operator of this quaint shop collecting Chicago Police memorabilia and Illinois State Police momentos and artifacts. Nowdays they sell t-shirts, hats, sweatshirts, books, coffee mugs, stickers, buttons etc.. that all have the Chicago Police or Illinois State Police logo on there. A great little store where you can buy gifts for a curent or retired police officer , anyone that loves or appreciates our law enforcement or if you just plain want a really unique suvenior from this area.

This place is very low key and unassuming but rest assured you will be taken care of. I am from out of town and went out of my way to pay Yojimbos a visit- Marcus, the owner is very helpful and eager to talk bikes and didn't mind stopping what he was doing to chat with my girfriend and I. We ogled all of his beatiful wares and bikes before leaving with some new bars (although I could spend a small fortune in there). I was delighted to see a bike shop that caters to the track/fixed community- it's hard to support your local bikeshop when theyr'e stocking gear for the sport roadie and mountain riders only. Another plus- is that since Yojimbos is a one man show you know your baby will be in good hands for repairs. Just remember to give a good knock- there really is a bike shop in there.
Pros: Personal Service, Great Selection for Fixed/Track heads- Tax Included w/ Price
Cons: I was overwhelmed by selection

Yesterday really is a great name of this store. You will really be taken back to yesterday when you enter this store.
They have all sorts of products that celebrate history and give us all a glimpse of years that have gone by. They have so many different products, but my favorite things to look at here are their presidential elections memorobilia. That stuff is really interesting and fun to look at.

I went on a Wrigley field tour and had a great time. I'm not a huge sports fan but I enjoyed seeing the places one would not otherwise be able to see, my fiance is a huge sports (& Cubs) fan and enjoyed the tour and even learned a few pieces of trivia along the way. We checked out the press box, field boxes, away clubhouse, Cubs clubhouse, bleachers and dugout. The volunteer tour guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. And it's good to know that the entire ticket price (only $20) goes to the Cubs care charity that keeps kids sports teams in equipment, among other things.
Even if you're not a tourist or a die hard sports fan, I recommend this tour.

It was so much fun riding a jet ski on Lake Michigan. No harbor. No trailor. It was great. They rent the jet skis right on the beach. So cool. The guys working down there were so friendly and helpful. Truly a good time.
Pros: only jet skis in Chicago! Great people too!

You are talking about twenty dollars or so to go around the city on this boat tour and relax in the sun. I do this every year as a refresher on my city and to just do something different for a while. It is an interesting tour. This isn't romantic or anything, but it does make for a good date.

I get a kick out of bowling once in a while. I probably should go more often so my game would be more consistent. This place has alot of lanes and is a nice looking, fairly modern bowling alley. They are close to Lane Tech and the problem with that is all the kids that flood here and try to take over this place. Even though Lane is a really good school there are alot of gang bangers that go there, hang out around there and love this place. To add to that this area is heavily populated and there are no other bowling alleys around to choose from. The place itself is cool but keep these things in mind especially during school hours. Are kids getting out of school at 11 AM these days? What's up with that?

I replaced my 20 year old Trek road bike last fall, working off of the year end sales sheets. Working with my somewhat limited budget, Bill S. took the time to fit me to several bikes on the floor . He took the time to analyize my riding requirements and helped me choose the right bike. (07' Trek 1500) I then loaded up pedals, shoes and aero bars. All of this came in under the retail price of the bike!
This took about 2 1/2 hours start to finish (bike, shoes, pedals, etc.). After a burger next door while they assembled my bike, Bill spent 20 more minutes fitting me and my aerobars to my bike.
I wasn't rushed nor pressured. I drove in from the suburbs specifically because of their inventory list.
Spring's arrival has finally provided more riding time. The bike is great, the buying experience was genuine, and I didn't burn up too many wife points by buying on sale!
Pros: Great selection: Year end sales inventory on line

Village Cycle Center is huge -- I have not be able to find a bigger bike store in Chicago (although, they advertise that they are the largest bike store in the nation). When I first wanted a bike, I did a lot of price comparisons and visited many stores, and found Village to be the most helpful and had decent pricing. You can find cheaper bikes, you're not likely to find the same level of service.
