Bobak's really knows how to put on a spread! We have been going for years and have never been disappointed. The menu changes frequently (perhaps daily) and you may not find something you really wanted to try again on your second visit...but it will pop up on your third or fourth...Sundays are by far the best (and the busiest) with a couple of different prime meats (ham, turkey...pork roast...or, oh my, even smoked butt) and a big bowl of chilled shrimp. The adjacent grocery store is well stocked with lots of Bobak brand items. Prices are reasonable in both the restaurant and grocery.
Pros: Ample Parking
Cons: Short hours

Oh ? My ? God. This is the kind of place you only discover if you know locals. You know it?s a good thing when there?s a sign that reads, ?Buffet Continues Around Corner.? This buffet is all-you-can-eat (including soups, desserts, and ice cream) for under $10, and everything I ate was amazing. From fresh fruit (OK, why pretend to be healthy) to the viener schnitzel, kielbasa, breaded pork cutlets, meatballs, corned beef, cole slaw, chicken salad, tuna salad, sauerkraut, breads, pastries, pierogi, blintzes, potato pancakes, apple pancakes, kolachy (bread-nut rolls), and apple fritters ? all of it was incredible. I had two FULL plates of main dishes and another FULL plate of desserts. We spent the rest of the night watching Dr Who on television and announcing every twenty minutes or so that we were all still full. Mmmmmmm?.
Don't eat all day, loosen your belt, bring something to read or a freind to chat with, and make an afternoon of it!!
Pros: Amazing food; More amazing value!
Cons: Not a first date kind of place, and bad for a diet!

Oh my love. How I miss the.
Why did I move to LA?!?!?
I can no longer feel the warmth of the fantastic chicken or tomato soup. I need your breaded chicken and cucumber salad! Oh come back to me.
But seriously this place is great. Fresh, clean, not greasy, and tasteful. Love the potato pancakes and hungarian goulash. I am going through withdrawals of good Polish food since moving to LA. You can count that when in Chicago this will be a guaranteed stop!
Pros: The food really is yummy. Hearty and healthy.
Cons: Egh if I had to say maybe the location could be somewhere a little less residential ... def not a deal killer

There just aren't places like this around. The food is hearty and fresh and made by Andrzej , his wife or his son all the time. (ensuring consistency) Perfect comfort winter food! I have had everything from the menu from the meatballs with mushrooms to the Stuffe potato pancakes. Their soups are incredible and they have delicious vegetarian stuffed cabbage and other veg entrees as well.
Andrejz is the type of place that you would never walk in on your own unless someone reccomended it. It just has one of those generic blue awnings on the outside that has seen better days. You will be pleasantly surprised as everyone I have ever reccomended it to .
It has an incredibly tasty menu at prices not adjusted for inflation!
YOU MUST GO!
Pros: Home food, High Quality, Fair Prices
Cons: Closes at 8 pm, Closed on Sunday

Angelica's is a no nonsense, get an authentic, fresh homecooked meal type of place. They have a grocery store next to the restaurant, so you know the food is fresh, fresh, fresh and good, good, good. Pasteries are home made and European. You cannot go wrong with any dish you select. I don't know how you can get all this, this cheap, cheap, cheap!
Pros: Great tasting homemade food

Yes that's right, they have a time limit on how long you can sit there. OK, I don't advocate overstaying your welcome such as getting there at 11 a.m. and staying till closing but a time limit? I'm not sure they enforce it as I left when I saw this posted at the entrance. They have always had good food here & reasonable prices but the last time I went there...didn't actually stay and eat...the prices were a bit high and the food didn't look to good, that was about a month ago. I would rather pay those prices and get to take home some left overs.
