We went to Pizzeria Uno for lunch and avoided the long wait, at 3PM or so there was only a 15-30 minute wait for 2, which was wonderful because I expected to wait much longer from the reviews. Also, they take your pizza order at the time of reservation, so even if you have to wait 45 minutes for a table, your pizza will be ready when you sit down, or at least be in preparation. The restaurant was small, but I wouldn't consider it cramped. My girlfriend and I ordered a small Spinocolli pizza(Spinach and Broccoli specialty) and a salad bowl to share. Both were very delicious. I personally did not think the spinocolli tasted so great, but my girlfriend thought that it was amazing. The pizza itself was wonderful and I liked the crust a lot, it was mainly the broccoli that I didn't find so great on the pizza. Other than that, great restaurant. My girlfriend and I were not able to finish a small pizza,
Pros: Great Pizza

I have dined around the globe (including in France), & this was one of the best meals ever, from start to finish. Great cocktails while we waited for a patio table, enchanting ambiance both in & out, the patio sparkled with lights among the trees & bushes. Onion strudel is a must have, mussels, sauteed greens, & gratin were fantastic. Great wine & beer list, attentive server, gracious management. Would return (from out of town) in a heartbeat!
Pros: ambiance, service, food, drink selection
Cons: none

Heartland Cafe, located in Roger's Park, is a sort of hippe health food institution. Part of a complete progressive movement, including a theater, bar, and general store, the Heartland cooperative is all about good things for your mind, body, and soul -- and the restaurant does not disappoint.
Offering something for everyone, vegans, vegetarians, and meat-eaters alike, the menu is huge! Mexican, American, comfort food, burgers, stir fry -- anything you could want, all prepared healthfully and at reasonable prices.
They support local organic farmers, as well as local and small-scale breweries. There is live music on the weekends, and occasionally you will run into a special benefit. Customers come from all walks of life. This is a fantastic fun place to go, not only for their fabulous food, but for the fun atmosphere.

Jim Glunz is awesome. Although his restaurant has grown in popularity over the last three years he still never forgets a face. I've been to every German restaurant in the city and this is the best (the Brauhaus being a close 2nd) ...also I go all over Chicago eating and drinking and this place is my home away from home. Try all the beers - they have the most thoughtful beer selection in town and they don't apologize for not offering tasteless domestic beers. They slow pour every beer 7 authentic German minutes. The food is great - I assure you that every dish is served from real, fresh ingredients. They even make their own desserts. Highly recommend the local jazz on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 8PM. It is the most relaxing scene in the city. So walk right up (there is always parking on Warner Ave.) and ask for a beer recommendations - Jim will be happy to help.
Pros: Food, beer, waitstaff, owner on hand
Cons: I don't live closer to this place

This place was packed full of students and locals. You can get pizza by the slice or by the pie. A large pizza was between $10 - $20 depending on what you put on it. They also do pasta. I was introduced to stuffed pizza while here. I recommend the Spinach Stuffed Pizza.
