This is a great theater downtown. It is a bit expensive, but I think you really do get what you pay for, The theater is set up really nicely, with comfortable seating, a great sound system, and a huge screen. The crowd here is also great, very respectful and they make the movie enjoyable. They play lots of movies here and at lots of different timings, Parking here is kind of hard to find and you'lll have to pay for it, so use public transportation if you can.

This theater has little lights on the ceiling to make it look like you are under the stars when the rest of the lights are out. This is a charming theater with some history on Southport corridor. I will always go here for the unique feel and good service from the employees.

The IMAX theater is located on the Navy Pier and it is a very exciting experience. While you will pay a bit more to watch a movie here than at a conventional theater, you will definitely be able to see the difference. The 3D aspect of this theater adds a whole new dimension to the experience of the movie. The theater is great too. Its in a nice, lively location and the theater is well kept and seating is really comfy. The only thing you might want to do is buy tickets online because they sell out fast. Also, parking can be expensive, so consider public transportation.

Probably the best place to see a movie in Chicago. The seats are comfortable, the concessions offer all you could need (including espresso!), the bathrooms clean and plenty, and the movie selection--superb! Some mainstream movies are shown, but most movies are independent or non-blockbuster flicks. The CHicago film festivals also use this location frequently.
A parking garage is available; parking on the street is not good. There are many restaurants in this area for pre or post movie--try Aladdin's or Eatzkis.

More
This is a frequent place for us to watch movies on Tuesdays especially because of the 5 dollar movie nights on Tuesdays. That also includes free parking and free popcorn! The movie selection can be a bit small, but they do have all the current releases. Try to get in a bit early on Tuesdays if you can because parking can be a bit of challenge to find and the lines can be a bit long. But I guess there's always a pay off when you save money! The theaters are also stadium like in terms of seating and they are kept very clean with excellent screens and theater systems. This is a great place to go to watch a move, Tuesday or not!

The Three Penny is a unique little theater in the center of Lincoln Park. I went to a private party here for my work where they rented the whole theater. They served all different types of food and drinks. You can get beer at this theater if you want. The people who work here are all cool and quick. A good time out.

You can see a movie here for three dollars. The theater has been worked on to make four small screens inside. The reason why you are paying such a low prices is because the screens are smaller than usual and the films that they are showing are old. Not too old, but not new. It is what you would expect on the new release wall at your local video store.

This place is cheap and different. You have to be at least 18 to get in to see a movie and 21 to drink. The for movies are five dollars a person. The also hold concerts here, which can get a little out of hand if you have been around to see the line going down the street to get in. This place is recommended.

It's unsual, to be sure, but when I went here for a concert I fell in love with the venue. It's large, but a fun place for a popular rock concert. The drinks are expensive! The area is a bit shady too, so I wouldn't go by yourself.

Thanks to reviewers I avoided the parking lot "scam". I actually found a legal space on Webster east of the theater and walked the block or so down. I had a gift card so I did not have to pay for the film ,which is way cool. The screen was good as was the sound and they have big name first run films here. I'm glad I have not had the problems that some others have had. The theater does not have much in the way of style, class or stunning architecture that's for sure but I did enjoy my experience here overall.
