This has got to be the best Mediterranean Restaurant I have ever been to. They have awesome food and phenomenal ambiance. Although it is listed here as Cedars of Lebanon the name has changed to Cedars Mediterranean Kitchen. As it should be since they have an open kitchen for you to see it all and a great brick fired oven to watch the pita bake and meats roast! WOW is the only way to desscribe this place!
Pros: Inexpensive, Good Parking, Great Music

I am Israeli and am always on the lookout for a new place to eat good Middle Eastern food. So when I happened to be in the area and spotted this restaurant, I went right in with the eager anticipation of enjoying what I hoped would be an excellent meal. And "Fattoush" did not disappoint! I selected the restaurant's "namesake" salad -- fattoush-- as well as the shishlik wrapped in a large, rather thick flat bread, the one we call "lafa" in Israel. The salad was oh so fresh -- the friendly owner informed me that it includes seventeen (!) different ingredients. It was a meal in itself, this salad, and all the finely cut vegetables and herbs blended perfectly to make for a delicious, savory, satisfying dish. The salad comes with several pieces of thin fresh pita, which can (and should!) be used to sop up the juices from the salad. The small, tender pieces of shishlik were done just right for my palate, and the owner doesn't skimp on the meat. This type of sandwich makes for an excellent meal to be eaten either for dine-in or on the run as a take-out option. A very appealing feature of "Fattoush" is that the owner does not employ any cooks. He and his wife are the only cooks in the restaurant, so you can be sure that lots of love and care is put into making these completely authentic Lebanese dishes. As for the atmosphere: Arab music was playing in the background and was not in the least obtrusive. The tables are spaced very well, with plenty of room to get around comfortably. I felt at home and relaxed, and there was no feeling of being rushed -- and I indeed took my time to thoroughly enjoy myself. I admit that I have yet to try the other choices on the menu, and I definitely plan on going back to do so.
Pros: Fresh, fresh food and a wonderful, relaxing atmosphere.
Cons: None that I can possibly think of.

I've been here a few times for hookah, and I will definitely be back. I recommend making reservations for a room, because the ambience is part of the experience. Lounge on silk pillows and enjoy a dimly-lit and tastefully-decorated room reminiscent of an opium den, sans opium. The service here was great, even when I had a problem. My order of hummus was disappointing (I'm not sure what they did, but it didn't taste like any other hummus I've ever had), and when I brough this to the attention of our server, she graciously exchanged it for an order of Baba Ganouhj.
The shisha has been strong and flavorful every time—I love the chocolate mint.
Pros: flavorful shisha, good service, nice ambience, comfortable
Cons: you have to pay $3 for water

This tasty hidden gem is a must eat place. Not fancy - just really cozy and casual. But the food is flavorful, fresh, and like eating at a ethnic home kitchen. I love the Moroccan eggplant. Cafe ole is better than starbucks! GREAT VEGITARIAN spot. Features a home made soup EVERYDAY. Family owned and run. Super loving welcome to all who dine. Call first as they observe holidays and are closed 1 day a week. Always have seating never had to wait!! Oh and SUPER CHEAP PRICES!!!!
Pros: delish
Cons: NONE

Noon O Kabab offers really fresh food and good quality. They offer a really tasty filet kabab and lamb kabab. I typically would get takeout because they tend to be pretty busy and you might feel a bit rushed by the servers. The portions are big though and you will have more than enough to share although I love the dill rice so much that it's pretty hard to share.

Looking for a spot in Chicago that's low key and only known by the locals? Well Pars Cove is where it's at! It's a small romantic Persian restaurant. The dishes are very reasonably priced and sometimes I forget I'm in Chicago the prices are so great! Any seafood dish is amazing, they cook everything just right and I've never had anything over cooked. The chilian sea bass is always a favorite. They have the best hummus in the city and the best pitas, everything is made right there. You can not go to Pars Cove and not try their hummus. Also, they are known for their walnut pomegranate sauce, which looks unappealing but is simply delightful! It is great on anything, chicken, lamb, or seafood. The service here is the best in the city, the staff is very welcoming and they really know the dishes. Monday-Friday between 4-6 all the entrees are half priced! They just added sangria to their menu and it's out of this world, you must get a pitcher for your table. The atmosphere is very romantic, there is seating underneath skylights and in the back of the restaurant as well for more secluded private seating. Ladies at the end of their dining experience typically receive fresh roses brought in by the owner himself!
