This place is amazing. I think it is one of the nicest places to go around Chicago for middle eastern food. The seating inside is nice and classy, the service is very pleasing, and the food is good! Th prices are reasonable, and nothing is overpriced. I suggest everyone who loves middle eastern to go to this place. You will not regret it.

at the new Lincoln Park (Lincoln Avenue) BaBa Pita. As a vegetarian, I'm always looking for places where a good, filling meal is available. BaBa Pita offers a great selection of middle eastern food--it uses fresh incredients, food that is well-flavored, and a warm welcome. Check this new restaurant out. The neighborhood needs more places like this!

I dropped by Clark Street to visit some friends of my boyfriend to join them for dinner and had the pleasure of spending what turned out to be the best night of my visit in Chicago. It'd been such a hot start to the summer (upwards of 110 degrees) and staying outside for long stints of time was particularly undesirable during the day and being stuck inside the house wasn't my idea of a vacation. So when I got to Andie's it was probably around 8:30pm. The outside of the restaurant is open, the tables on the outside, under the stars were all taken by 27 to 35 year old couples looking Chicagan and in love. It was such a pleasant atmosphere, I highly recommend going in at least once if you live in Chicago. Our waitress arrived at the perfect time, as our excited conversations slowed a bit and gave us not only suggestions but also gaged my tastes and asked me about my vacation and a little about the West Coast. I am very pleased with my experience here and hope you have the chance to dine here as well.
PROS: Excellent Service, Excellent ambiance, Excellent Food

A group of 5 went there this past weekend, completely forgetting to reserve a table on a busy Friday night. After driving around and around for parking, we were lucky at getting a table after waiting only 6-8 minutes! We read the reviews before arriving, and I must say we don't believe everything we read. The restuarant was great... the food was amazing.... and the service was terrific. (Am I making the point yet?) The server/manager recommend all of our entrees (which we all thought was weird and funny), but we trusted his judgement and loved every bite of our meals. We tried some appetizer, some samples of their desert, and the green mint tea was awesome. Best of all, the bill was SO cheap! We tipped very generously because everything was perfect. I highly recommend taking a date there, or a group of friends. Did I mentioned they sat us quickly after sitting 2 parties of 18-20 people each! I felt like they went the extra mile and they deserve to be noticed.
Pros: BYOB, FOOD, PRICE
Cons: hmm... tight squeeze between tables

My family has been coming here for decades...for reasonably priced, highly authentic Armenian/Middle Eastern food, there is nothing better. It's almost like retreating into a private sanctuary when you duck off of Michigan Ave to eat here. Everything is fresh and delicious and I especially recommend the spinach pies and lentil soup. Yes, there are other Middle Eastern offerings in Chicago but none so convenient, authentic and well-priced.
Pros: All aspects of this authentic Armenian restaurant
Cons: I wish they were open later!

RoPa is an excellent addition to the Roger's Park neighborhood because it provides a more upscale dining experience. The food is delicious and the prices are reasonable. The crab cakes, salmon dish, Aegean salad and blackened tilapia were all excellent. Plus, you can sample wines by selecting a flight of 2, 3 or 4 for only $2 a glass. I would recommend RoPa to anyone who is looking for a food that goes above and beyond the fast food places in the area.

If I'm in Old Town, it's either for a show at Second City or a movie at Piper's Alley, and this is my place for dinner. It's a cozy, casual little place that is never crowded but always great. The atmosphere is mixed: they have some gorgeous tapestries and paintings, but their dinnerware is anything but, with sandwiches served in baskets and their plates have bizarre black-and-yellow hazard designs. But I'm not eating the plates (!), so that hardly matters considering their excellent grape leaves, creamy hummus, fresh falafel sandwiches, and tasty vegetarian platters. They also make a nice piece of baklava.
Pros: excellent food, lovely artwork

Everyone that we have brought here has become a regular. It is the type of place where your first dish there will likely blow all other versions of it you have had elsewhere away so you will become obsessed with it for like six months. Then you will finally feel like you need to branch out to something else on the menu and bam! you are obsessed again with that dish. For appetizers I recommend the Fattoush, Baba Ghannouj and the french fries. Yes, I said french fries - they come out crisp and hot and they spice them with sumac and give you a garlic mousse for dipping - I was immediately hooked. For delivery you can get a whole roasted rotisserie chicken delivered for under $10. My dog loves it when I do that. The owner and his staff are super friendly and accomodating as well. The atmosphere is very laid back and inviting.
