Its a great restaurant with great service. Very inexpensive for the large amount of food you get. I recommend getting the shish taok meal, which comes with lemon rice, grilled chicken, grilled onions and you get a side of pickles and a salad of tomotoes, cucumbers and lemon juice, also you get about 4-5 pita breads all for under $10. It says it serves one person but I usually share with the hubby and have plenty left over. Its really delicious and I've been going there for years and have always been treated great.
Pros: Price, Parking, Made fresh from when you order
Cons: it's a small restaurant and they only have a couple of tables if you go when busy

This deli has so much variety and couldnt get over how good their dips were. I had a very nice conversation with the staff there and I felt so comfortable asking questions about all the foods they serve.
Such nice people who have a passion for what they do. Do yourself a favor and check them out.
This place is a gem for sure.
Pros: Dips made fresh daily
Cons: I wish it was next door to my house.

Looking for a spot in Chicago that's low key and only known by the locals? Well Pars Cove is where it's at! It's a small romantic Persian restaurant. The dishes are very reasonably priced and sometimes I forget I'm in Chicago the prices are so great! Any seafood dish is amazing, they cook everything just right and I've never had anything over cooked. The chilian sea bass is always a favorite. They have the best hummus in the city and the best pitas, everything is made right there. You can not go to Pars Cove and not try their hummus. Also, they are known for their walnut pomegranate sauce, which looks unappealing but is simply delightful! It is great on anything, chicken, lamb, or seafood. The service here is the best in the city, the staff is very welcoming and they really know the dishes. Monday-Friday between 4-6 all the entrees are half priced! They just added sangria to their menu and it's out of this world, you must get a pitcher for your table. The atmosphere is very romantic, there is seating underneath skylights and in the back of the restaurant as well for more secluded private seating. Ladies at the end of their dining experience typically receive fresh roses brought in by the owner himself!

My family and I have been coming here since I was a baby [24 years]. The restaurant serves an array of food, including home-cooked Jewish standards like my favorite matza ball soup!!! Its always been a tradition to come to Whats cooking on a rainy day and enjoy a hot bowl of matza ball. They also serve American favorites like burgers, fries, and much more!

I'm so glad I finally stopped in here... the menu is full of Mediterranean standards: lots of hummus, falafel, baba, etc., but they can put it together in interesting ways, like the Ali Baba pizza I had once, which has roasted eggplant, olive, hummus, and lots of goat cheese on a nice fresh pita. The menu does have some meat on it, if that's your thing, but there's an abundance of vegetarian options, all for very reasonable prices. They also have some smoothies I've been meaning to try, which sound good and are under $3. Service is quick and competent. Vey nice, soothing atmosphere, too.
Pros: Delicious veggie value
Cons: So far, so good

If this is the restaurant now called Abibi, then it's amazing. Located at the corner of Magnolia and Devon, this beautiful restaurant features all the traditional favorites. Wonderful shish tawook, buttery rice and the sauteed veggies made the perfect dinner. We had a combo appetizer with tangy grape leaves, crunchy falafel and amazing hummus. The pita was perfect because you could actually pull it apart. It wasn't a hard piece of cardboard like some places. The second we sat down, we enjoyed some of the most fantastic tea. Wonderful service, so friendly.
Pros: Fantastic food, great service, GREAT prices
Cons: None

The food here is cheap and delicious! The falafel, shwarma, etc. is wrapped in a wrap-style pita (as opposed to pocket-style). I love the lamb shwarma here, but the falafel is also excellent. The service is very fast and friendly and you have to love the cheesy postcard-style pictures of Lebanese landmarks on the walls.

I've seen people complain the decor is a bit lacking. It was fine by me, and given the neighborhood (3800 N Broadway) it looked like the Taj Mahal in comparison. The food was phenomenal - I got a yogurt kebab and a rice-dish entree. Both were supremely well seasoned, and the only meat I've ever had that was as tender and well cooked as the meat on my kebab is a filet mignon from one of our best steakhouses (Joe's).
Big fan, if it was closer, I would certainly go more often. Portions are "American"-sized too, so expect to take some home if you order an entree/kebab a person.
Pros: Amazing dishes, from appetizers to entrees to kebabs
Cons: Menu WAY to extensive
