I came across this "raiting system" after I closed my loan with Lakeshore. And I have to say my experience with them was fantastic. This is the third time I have closed on a condo purchase in the city of Chicago and also my third mortgage broker. But, now I will be sticking with Lakeshore if I need any further mortgage help. I have also referred several of my friends and co-workers to my the Loan officer I worked with, Adam Blake. He was referred to me by my Real Estate agent, who said he would do a great job and he did.
Pros: Responsive in calling me back, he always made himself available to me. Better rates then anywhere else I called...

Much like Marvell Tower, Talro is another low-cost insurer in Chicago. They have much cheaper rates than the national insurance companies, but this is largely because the insurers they represent are somewhat unreliable and cannot be really trusted in case you have a serious accident.
Case in point: I had to make a claim. After making the initial report, I could never ever talk to the claims adjuster ever again. Every single time I called, I got put on indefinite hold. They eventually did pay off the claim, but they dropped my policy immediately afterwards. Basically, you get what you pay for.

Currecncy Exchange Devon and Western has fast service. There are hardly ever any lines. Not only that, but they always have many people working fast and efficiently. Also, you can send money to other countries through them as well. There prices for sending money and such is cheaper than other currency exchanges.

Even though I am a fan of Subway I really like quiznos too sometimes. They were the first sub shop I know of that offered the toasted option on their subs and by far they are definately the best at it. I agree that over the years they are getting more limited and the portions get smaller where the prices get bigger it seems. I just usually keep an eye out for their special which typically is a pretty good deal.

A good mechanic is somewhat like a doctor or a lawyer. You don't really want to see them to often, but when you do, you want to make sure it's someone you trust.
Milito's Mobil in Lincoln Park is by far the best mechanic shop in town. I used to go to one of their competitors, but after discovering the price difference I quickly switched. What was an estimate for over $2000 ended up as a $500 job with Milito's. It's not only the price though. The turnaround time with these guys is amazing. They never go in and "FIND" something else that must be fixed without contacting you first.
Went today to get my car washed and for only $15 I had 4-5 guys work on it after it had gone through the machine.(Dirty car) Service all the way. The rest of Chicago has much to learn from these guys.

First, I have to say that Arnstein & Lehr is a very professional firm. That means that they cost big bucks. If you can afford it, they have a great staff of lawyers that specialize in a number of fields, including family law (divorce), employment law (worker's comp), and tax law. I have personally received legal advice from one of the lawyers in the Nonprofit Organizations division for many years now. I highly recommend this firm.
